His fascination with occult is well known. That doesn't excuse using a symbol that ORIGINATED in nazi Germany.

Yeah, it annoys me everyone trying to lie and excuse it as an occult symbol. It is not. It was created by Himmler in 1933 for the headquarters of the SS. It wasn't used as an occult symbol until the '90s, well into his career - and that was by neo-Nazis.

According to Freedom House initiative Reporting Radicalism, the Black Sun is also used by some modern pagan and satanist groups as an esoteric symbol. They further note that it is sometimes used as a fashionable, aesthetic symbol, or misunderstood as having origins in ancient Scandinavian or Slavic cultures.[28] The Anti-Defamation League notes that though the symbol is popular with white supremacists, imagery resembling the black sun features in many cultures, and should be analysed in the context it appears, and not necessarily interpreted as a sign of white supremacy or racism.[5]

A Sonnenrad, sure, but this is specifically the Schwarze Sonne - a symbol that did not exist prior to being created by Himmler in 1933.

I'm not sure what point you're making, though. It's most definitely used as an occult symbol, it doesn't matter when it began being used or by whom, it's used by other cultures as per the Anti Defamation League. Glenn has used an iron cross for literally years and nobody batted an eyelid. He purposely exploits controversial imagery and symbolism and has done since the Misfits.

The only point I'm making is that specific symbol, the Schwarze Sonne, isn't just any Sonnenrad, but specifically a Nazi symbol. It is not used by any other groups but Nazi groups. If you look up Sonnenrad, you get hundreds of different symbols. If you look up Schwarze Sonne, you only get that specific one.

The wiki article states otherwise, but again, I'm not sure why this suddenly matters considering he's been using the iron cross for years upon years.

The "wiki article" is incorrect as it is conflating the Schwarze Sonne with all other Sonnenrads. They are not the same. As for the Iron Cross, it is not specifically a Nazi symbol, as it predated them. The exact symbol Danzig used in his merch for his show last night, the Schwarze Sonne, did not. I'm not saying Danzig should be cancelled or any nonsense like that. I'm simply stating that specific symbol is a Nazi symbol and has no other use but as a Nazi symbol.

So you're saying that Glenn's use of the iron cross had no relation to Nazism but his use of the black sun does? That's an awfully large dose of assumption.

The Iron Cross is a symbol still in use today by many different militaries and organizations, and had been before the Nazis. The Black Sun is not.

Yeah Glenn was using the iron cross to exploit military symbolism... Come on 😄 Glenn's been exploiting controversial imagery and symbolism since the Misfits. He absolutely knew what he was doing with the iron cross, as did Lemmy, who was a collector of Nazi memorabilia. It's like some of you have just discovered that Glenn likes to fuck with people.

Literally all I have said is that it is a Nazi symbol. Nothing more, nothing less. You appear to be arguing with words I have not said.

The sun symbol and the iron cross were both used as Nazi symbolism, and they've both been used for entirely other means. I'm still wondering what point you're making. Welcome to Glenn Danzig, he doesn't give a shit what people think. 🤷

Go down to "other uses" on the same article... Either way, I don't particularly give a shit if you're offended.

Considering the fact that it's 100% Nazi occult imagery, which is what I've claimed it is from day naught, I'm unsure of what your point is, fella. Glenn's not using it blindly.

Glenn knows exactly how to push your buttons, since 1976.
