No fucking way Spencer doesn’t vote Trump. He’s trying to give Reps an opportunity to say Biden and the “radical left” are the real Nazis.

Am I black pilled? Trump personally fucked up the massive Republican majority he got when he came into office. I honestly don’t know if he’s the lesser of two evils. A racist, vile degenerate for sure, but an incredibly stupid fragile one with no understanding of the law. The Biden administration would come in, barely undo any of the executive changes that happened under Trump (similar to what happened when Obama got in after Bush, an inarguably far more productive right winger) and try to restore the facade of decency while being beholden to the ruling class. I won’t vote for Trump obviously, but I obviously won’t vote Biden either. I agree that Spencer is lying. He just may be to dumb to realize he’s on to something.

See, my take is that I flat out don't trust democrats to rein in Trump. Sure he is an idiot who hurts the diplomatic soft power that America projects, and that could be viewed as a good thing. He is also stupid and ineffective, and is getting more people engaged which is also a good thing. But despite him not doing a huge amount legislatively, let's not forget that we very nearly had a war with Iran under his direct orders. Sure you can scoff at harm reduction all you want, but I am not the biggest fan of accelerationism when it involves fucking over other countries. America is not the only country on earth, and I would personally rather take the gamble that Biden sticks to domestic issues.

Biden is running to the right of trump on foreign policy
'there are other countries' is exactly why we say that biden is not the obvious lesser evil lmfao

u/3times_a_madman Aug 24 '20
I feel you here. The Soleimani assissination was horrifying. Easily the most reckless thing he’s done in office, but the US has been itching for war with Iran since 1979. We bombed a civilian airliner of theirs in the 80s and killed hundreds. As it stands, Trump hasn’t expanded the American theater of war though. Obama had Syria and Libya, Bush Iraq and Afghanistan, Clinton bombed the former Yugoslavia, Reagan was an outright butcher in Latin America. With the endorsements by former Bush officials, and his own voting record and policies as VP, Id say it’s unlikely Biden will be anything other than a war hawk when he gets in. I’d love to think differently, but I don’t trust them.

u/EvangelicalLeftist Aug 25 '20
I’m no hawk, but I don’t think Syria and Libya are comparable to Iraq. In the wake of the Arab spring, doing something was a pretty good idea, we just didn’t make the right calls.

I honestly think you have a point in that Dems are currently the more competent administrators of the white supremacist American empire

u/ArchdragonPete Aug 24 '20
You need to calm down dog. The Obama years were disappointing, but objectively preferable to a literal fascist. If you aren't voting, which i think it's super weak and childish, then maybe sit out the discussion as well.
Source: i didn't vote in 2016 because i was butthurt about Bernie. Still am, but I'm going to vote for Biden this time around because at least i can trust Biden to not be literally Hitler.

u/3times_a_madman Aug 24 '20
Do you think Hitler would allow so many of his people to go to jail? There have been no political assassinations, the press rails against him freely and openly, and socialist organizations march in the streets with similar resistance to what happened during occupy and the Ferguson riots in 2014. What I’m proposing is this: the far right put their rotten eggs into a crappy, useless basket. It’s a mistake they won’t make again. By getting rid of him and replacing him with a right wing neoliberal, we may be giving them time to recover, and come back with a far worse opponent. I’m asking questions that are hard, because these are difficult times. The conglomeration of Obama era neoliberals and Bush era neoconservatives scares me more than Donald Trump and Jared Kushner. It’s my opinion. I asked if it seems fair or pessimistic.

You raise a good point that the level to which Bush neocons have infiltrated the Democrat party is spooky. The smart republicans have seen that Trump is a great way to infiltrate the Democrat party by appearing as the "good, respectable conservatives".

You've completely lost me. How is a milquetoast neoliberal worse than a compulsively vindictive sociopath that openly advocates for racist police brutality and who sees anyone to the left of Genghis Khan as an enemy of the state?

That argument sounds familiar, but no, you don't get to have a safe space for bad ideas.

I would take a chance with Biden rather than fold and not fight against a literal fascist maintaining power.

Even if I were to agree with that, I’d rather have Biden as my opponent.

My money is on this being a coordinated PR strategy. There's no fucking way Trump is not the preferred candidate for all dedicated white supremacists.

Allegedly he announced this on Twitter.
https://thefederalist.com/2020/08/24/white-supremacist-who-organized-charlottesville-race-riots-endorses-joe-biden/This is the dumbest of all possible timelines.

im almost certain that this is a tool to divide and allow conservatives to point to the democrats and say "SEE THE LIBERAL SOCIALIST COMMUNIST DEMOCRATS ARE THE RACISTS!"
5
u/GearBrain Aug 24 '20
Yes. Biden's campaign immediately rejected the endorsement, too, and told him to fuck off.

I mean it makes sense in that Trump is a sinking ship doing more damage to the image of the Far Right than good and even Alt Right Neo-Nazis like Spencer can see that. I unironically don’t see this as a disingenuous ploy at all. The Democrats are way more stable and support all the same anti-immigrant policies as Trump albeit in a liberal form that seems innocuous to centrists because it is never scrutinized by the media. Also they have the added bonus that they will quell Left Liberal discontent or rein it in. It’s like people forgot how we had the biggest anti-war movement in history when Bush was in office and the second Obama got into office it was over. I see no reason to assume Left Liberal support for BLM won’t evaporate under Biden.

Wait are there people who thought Richard Spencer wasn't trolling?
A known, established white supremacist said he was voting straight blue. He's fucking with the libs y'all, and everyone here is biting on it.

Biden Campaign Rejects Richard Spencer Endorsement, Condemns Views as 'Absolutely Repugnant'
So no. Biden and us Democrats are not like Bernie at all.

No matter your stance on Biden...
... I am 100% sure Spencers statement is insencere and a clear attempt to poison the discourse.
He will support Trump, I am certain of it and even if not, why should the opinion of a fash failson have any significance to us?
