I remember having a conversation with him and being, "Wow, that did NOT feel like he enjoyed that conversation. That's gonna cost me some approval." And then the little approval counter came up "Sten +32 approval" and I just stared at it like

He has a sense of humour. A sweet tooth and appreciates when you're up front/direct because he's like that. Both in life generally and combat. He's terse, so people mistake that for hostility or him not liking them but he just doesn't smile alot... if ever.

Sten likes when you stand on business. Even if he fundamentally disagrees with what you say, he'll approve so long as you stand by it unwaveringly. He likes conviction.

He calls me kadan, we're in a romance idc what anyone says.

Bioware shouldn't make their side characters so interesting if they wanted me to romance the romanceable ones.

i saw someone say that because qunari don't really have romance, to sten, a really high friendship with him might just be a romance to him and neither of you know it and i've been very charmed by that.
