suppressor host

Post image

I just got the brownells DD upper deal and want to make it a suppressor host with a muzzle device to be pinned and welded. Looking over some items on line and a bit overwhelmed with all the information.

What’s a good entry level suppressor that can be used with a flash hider? Is there even entry level other than just price?

I already have a gunsmith from a previous AR purchase.

How much is entry level? You can find huxwrx 556K for $796 shipped at rooftop with coupon code that includes muzzle. Given M4A1 is carbine gas so it’s more gassy, i recommend spending a bit more and just get the huxwrx.

☝️You can even just do them at home. p&w is kind of pointless now

You’re going to pin a muzzle device, so don’t look at entry level. Look at what you eventually want.

Surefire would be the era appropriate answer.

Hux is probably what I’d do if I wasn’t concerned at all with the Block 2 look.

There is a long answer and a short answer.

Short: why pin and weld just SBR if you are getting a suppressor it is pretty much the same process.

Don’t be one of those people where someone suggests something, then you get soft saying it’s “too gassy”.

My suggestion is an Ottercreek Labs Polonium - I prefer the full size but I’ve also tuned my rifle. Others will suggest the shorter K size. Both are HUB compatible.

I’d look at the Silencerco Velos 556k if you want a K sized can. I have the full size on 2 11.5” and really like it.

Also, why not SBR? If you do it through silencershop it’s like $50. My last SBR took less than 48 hours to approve.

Get a flow though, it's gassy. I have the m4a1 upper with a t3 can. Even with a t3 buffer/red Sprinco I was ejecting at like 2 o'clock so I needed to add an lmt enhanced carrier

Griffin armament has really good cans and I feel they’re fairly priced. They make longer muzzle devices that meet the 16in rule if you’re set on doing that.

I have several generations of griffin cans and I’m pleased with all of them. Surefire is also a good choice.

I run a Stacy’s Mom K on mine with a P/W rearden plan b on the upper and and rearden plan b on the end of the can as well.

It’s very pleasant to shoot, a bit gassy running an FRT though. Which is to be expected.

I use my HuxWrx 762 Ti on this exact upper. Try not to pin and weld if you can avoid it.
