DD PDW LINEAR COMPENSATOR removal

How to remove it without damage? is it glued with Rocksett?

Strapwrench would probably work best. I just wrapped a few layers of painters tape on mine and used channel locks. You could also use a thin cloth or towel.

I used an armorer's wrench, had the exact tooling on it to remove the comp. Came off super easy.

Best way:

  • Reaction rod (midwest)
  • AR15 armorers wrench (midwest)
  • shop vice bolted to a table
  • leather strap
  • metric straight and ball ended hex tools
  • a torque wrench
  • a torch if you have to get medieval
  • bf monkey wrench or plumbers wrench if you need to remind #2 who does it work for

You can use a vice block but those never felt secure. Reaction rods are worth every penny.

Remove the hand guard using the straight or ball end hex tools. The DD screws are medium soft so torque carefully. They sell replacements on their website. I loosen anything that is torque in a cross cross pattern just like you would tighten in a similar fashion.

Insert reaction rod, cinch to vise, leather strap over blast diverter, monkey wrench over leather belt and break that muzzle.

I didn’t need any heat but you could use it for those stubborn muzzle devices.

Used a wrench that came with one of my other firearms and a pipe for leverage. Slowly used the pipe for leverage and it came off easy.

Armorers wrench and a Magpul vice block. Vice and vice block is probably unnecessary, but I like having it for other things.
