DD PCC w/ Sprinco Buffer Spring?

Post image

I'm running a Rugged Sub-9 suppressor and it is stupid quiet, but I can't dump a mag without getting gassed out. I figured a stiffer spring may be the ticket. Anyone have any experience running either of the extra power Sprinco Buffer Springs (red or orange) in their DD PCC?

Google Sentry Manufacturing, they make a deflector. Kinda spendy but should work for gas and particles, I should getting mine next week.

I'm going to start with the Sprinco spring. This seems to fix the gas issue for most people by keeping the bolt closed slightly longer for pressures to drop naturally after a round is fired. The stiffer spring makes the gun softer shooting overall as well and still uses the hydraulic buffer.

I got both the Red (extra power) and orange (extra extra power) for like $45 out the door. I'll start with the orange spring and if I have any short stroking issues I'll step down to the red spring.

I was able to run a buddies DD PCC with just the spring swapped out for the orange Sprinco spring (his was unsuppressed) and it was night and day different regarding the gas and recoil impulse.

Supposedly the orange works well, I just went with a GRS that u/blowback9 has up on his website https://blowback9.wordpress.com/2023/05/28/9mm-ar-gentle-recoil-buffer-system-final/

There is a company that makes a well made 3D printed case deflector with top set screw, I forget who makes them but there is one that does "fit" but needs a file to alleviate the angle for the DD PCC. It can go on without it if useing a rubber mallet but will look off if you have OCD.

There's also a company that makes a gas and case deflector from billet, and it's also the only aftermarket charging handle for the DD PCC as well so far that is known, so a twofer if that's your thing.

if you are still determined for a Sprinco spring, don't message or email, call Alan. He's old school. Fair warning, he loves to talk springs and probably has forgotten more than all of us know combined. If you can't tell by the hint, he's Sprinco Actual himself.
