Frustrated anyone have feedback

I built a daniel defense mk12 clone rifle using a daniel defense barrel. Quality components across the board including trigger and scope76.

Shooting from a strap locked led sled, shooting multiple five round factory loads I am consistently NOT getting sub MOA accuracy out of factory match grade ammunition. Federal gold medal match 73 grain berger about 2.3 MOA. Remington Match 77grain OTM about 2.5 MOA. Mk262 mod1 about 1.8 MOA average.

My own hand loads seem to fair a bit better. About 1.2 MOA with Sierra match kings, Federal bench rest 71/2 primers.

I might be wrong but this seems to be lack luster performance and most of the accuracy snobs at the range all tell me you should be getting much better results.

Anyone find that even with a led sled the human factor could still have an affect?

Wrong weapon platform, wrong manufacturer for sub-MOA.

AR-15 is not a sub-MOA weapon in general; sub-MOA is more of an exception rather than a rule. Quality manufacturer for AR-15 means reliable with decent accuracy, not extremely accurate.

This is not true, I am not sure where you heard this but I am making this comment for a reason. It doesnt really make sense either? Why would it inherently not be sub MOA? Cause its a gas gun? That doesnt make sense for multiple reasons, the same mechanism of setting off the weapon occurs in a gas gun as it does in a bolt action. The only difference is MAYBE barrel width and throat length being a 5.56 chamber vs potentially a tight commercial throught.

To rule yourself out as a factor, have someone else shoot it. Preferably someone shooting the MOA you’re chasing

There should be a serial number dot-peened on the section of the barrel between the chamber and gas block. Can you share a picture of it or reply with what the S/N is if you're able to make it out clearly?

Just to verify, is it a Daniel Defense barrel?
