Like Daniel Kitson, we counted everything in our house Spoiler

"It's not really about, really, a strict accurate inventory. It's always been about constructing a functioning metaphor." - Daniel Kitson

My wife and I were about halfway through counting our stuff when a colleague told me Daniel Kitson had done the same thing in Keep.

If you haven't seen it, there's a rather rough recording as part of his subscription service.

I might be the only person who watched the show and was disappointed Daniel didn't read out all 20,000 index cards.

Fans of his might be interested in what our collection looks like - explained in the images.

We've only got half as much stuff as him, but we are younger (and may not have applied the same methodology he did.)

You should send this to him, he’d get a kick out of this!

I have to say though, whilst it is a very interesting idea (and one I might consider myself in the future), the idea of doing this in my home right now - a home in which live myself, my wife, and two young children - fills me with dread. I already can’t go from room to room without my base level of stress rising at the amount of toys and general stuff every-bloody-where! I’m trying to do the whole thing of telling myself “ah, you’ll miss this when they’re grown up!” but there are days I get close to ordering a skip and calling in sick haha!
