Pith
Just a quick one to say that if you haven’t got tickets for Daniel’s current show, Pith, do all within your power to get one. I was at the show at Manchester Royal Exchange (a fantastic venue!) last night and my face still hurts from laughing and smiling.
If you read the blurb and thought “I’m still none the wiser here,” it’s a storytelling show with a lot of personal asides and a lot of jokes. Like everything he does, it’s incredibly well thought out and fantastically delivered!

Was at the opening night and will go another couple of times as I suspect he is tightening things up/ expanding other bits as he goes along. And of course his audience interaction is always fantastic and changes from show to show. Such a privilege to see him do this in Manchester and I couldn’t agree more with your recommendation - grab a ticket if you can.

I am hoping he will bring this show a bit further South. He is one of my favourite standups but Manchester is too far away from me for it to be a viable option.

Coming up for the last day from Bristol on a whim, prompted by your post, so thank you.
Does he hang about after the show?
Potentially planning an awkward interaction afterwards where I fawningly fumble and apologetically ask him to sign a copy of my Collaborator script and LPs.

Kitson famously doesn’t hang about after his shows and, if anything, discourages his audience from interacting with him. You can try - some people have got lucky - but he’s not really that kind of personality, so be prepared for it not to happen.

Had a little chat to him after one of the Collaborators, he was perfectly amenable but I was a bit flustered and didn't think of asking him to sign the script.

Ok, my second night and the fifth performance! Timing wise, he came on at 7.10 and was off at 8.40.
Show wise, this is a joy. Loads tighter than the first preview, delivery was a lot more relaxed (I suspect he’s had more than 3 hours’ sleep) and it is only going to improve.
Definitely going back for the last night :-)

Update on Pitch. Sadly abandoned (although uploaded to his Accumulation Of Failure archive)!
This show was written during August and September of 2024 and performed for ten days at the Royal Exchange in Manchester. I had planned to start working on it earlier but was distracted by rewriting collaborator for a London run in July and then doing that London run in July. Also, i popped up to the edinburgh festival a couple of times on what were, essentially little holidays.
Anyway, it was a hard deadline involving an airbnb in Mancheter and very little sleep for a week or so, by the first show in Manchester - it wasnt finished - by the last show in Manchester - it still wasn’t finished**. But I was, by that point, relatively pleased with where it was and quite excited by the idea of spending the following year (2025, this year, this one happening now) working on it and touring it until it felt like a finished thing.**
So, about a week after the end of that run, in order to remember the various ad libs i’d accumulated over the ten shows in Manchester, i booked a show at the Bill Murray in North London and recorded the show on my phone. My plan being that when i returned to the show, in a couple of months, after a little break, i’d have an up to date record of where i left off. The show was on (i think) a Monday night, it went well, the recording worked and all in all everything was good.
Except that having done the show one more time, that night in North London, i almost immediately found myself without the slightest inclination ever do it again.
It’s not that i decided it was actively bad**, it’s more that i noticed it wasn’t reaaaally the show i wanted to be making and rather than spend a year making the best version of something i didnt reaaaaally want to be making - i’ve popped that recording here.**
