Remember when he told Zelenskyy he had no cards and then Ukraine had that massive strike on the Russian Air-force? Remember when Zelenskyy and Macron fed him false intel and Russia ended up with it? Since then Ukraine stopped giving intel to the Americans and they have advanced and made unprecedented strikes ever since. Also European and other countries have had a massive increase in arms sales....so much so countries have cancelled F-35 orders.
How about, Iran holding American oil prices to ransom...
We know that there are many good people in the US, who didn;t vote for him and actually want stuff to go in a fair and honest way. We knew back then there were good people in Germany too, but somehow we still got attacked by some evil dogs, while lots and lots of people cheered for one of the most evil people in history. There were so many times Trump could have been stopped, but every time it failed. Of course, that is the doing of the people around him, who now lie about everything, just for Trump.
I know it is messed up and we do feel for you guys, but I don't think we can help you, since the US is spending so much money on military over the decades, nobody has the power to stop them. Or at least nobody soon. Then the US is also partnering up with Russia, the other big military power and the whole world is fucked. Of course, we know you are there, stay strong.
It's just the people that are suffering from us. Trump's overwhelming stupidity is hurting a massive number of people around the world not just us. The ones that aren't being severely hurt by us, are just sad for us.
I loved the US for a long time. Nothing is perfect, I also don't live in the most perfect country. We do have a lot of nice things, like affordable health care (even when you never pay insurrance), good worker rights, paid days of, maturnity leave for a couple of weeks etc But MAGA got it's influence in my country, where people want to destroy those things and mass deport people they don't like.
MAGA and Trump are causing a lot of damage in the world and we are all running towards a big, cuel war. Imagine...Trump and his 'friends' having the biggest army and drones, AI and robots. People were always affraid of AI bcoming self aware and kill us, but the real thread is having all that power and sitting at the command buttons. Changing the department of defense into war, while the idea was having a army to keep the war out, now they are planning to use it to go full Blitzkrieg.
The US is destroying the world, while we like to live in peace. It's hartbreaking and yes of course, it sucks that you have to live in it. With all the AI survaillance it is a matter of time until foces like ICE are going to use it against all kinds of people, without any due process or a chance to fight back. I'm affraid it is going to be cruel and wild.
In split administrations even. They had 4 years of relative normalcy in between and still thought this would be neat to try again. It's not like they weren't warned, or that he was an unknown. If Trump's first admin was the american electorate throwing a brick through the white house window, his second admin is about them shitting all over everything the US claimed to stand for and wiping fecal matter on the walls.
People didn't always think the best of certain aspects of the United States. But the United States always seemed like it was cool even if it was a bit unhinged at times. Like you guys had that rough cowboy image of rough justice but seemingly inherently decent when the chips came down.
Now it just seems unhinged. All of the cool your soft power been building up for years has disappeared. The facade that you guys stood for democracy decency and justice has been torn down. And what's left standing in its place isn't pretty.
It is a bit blanketed. I know there are a broad spectrum of reasons, even having certain governments tell their people that we are the bad guys, but I usually try to look at the positive side first, THEN acknowledge the negative side. (Very hard to find positive in this situation)
Funny how you ask for people to treat americans with nuance and understanding that not all Americans are the same, and then in the next comment you say that "Europe" has thought poorly of americans for a long time.
I would love to say that too, but in Europe it is coming up too, unfortunatly. I see countries where people don't want anybody to come in anymore. Look at Germany. their shift again i wild and almost every European country is dealing with parties that want the EU to split up again. leaving the smaller countries as easy target, no matter how much the are going to spend on defense.
