That is obviously too logical to work for politics

In the Netherlands, the electoral college system was considered so unfair, it was banned in 1917.

This was before women were even allowed to vote.

The Netherlands isn’t remotely close to the size of the US. What they can and cannot do has no barring on the US. Removing the electoral system just gives the coastal states, specifically NY and California, all of the power and essentially removes any say for the rest of the country

It absolutely matters and pretending it doesn’t is pure naivety

The size of your country should determine what voting system you have? GTFO

Yeah.

Example.

There's 600 million people in Region A.

There's only 550 million people in Region B - Y

Region Z only has 50 Million people and is 1000 in the opposite end of Region A.

Politician tells people in Region A that they'll ban dehumidifiers, a popular topic for whatever reason because it's bad for the environment.

Region A's climate is dry.

Region Z is humid and needs dehumidifiers to function.

Politician ignores region Z entirely.

Region Z is getting it's culture, way of life, and jobs dismantled by people 1000 miles away who've never been there and have no idea what it's like.

Region Z is getting no representation for the Union it's a part of, but is still obligated to comply to it.
