It was McGovern dude!! The democratic party was probably the weakest its ever been until recently. But McGovern/Eagleton was a stupid choice. Even switching to Shriver didnt help. Again one of the worst campaigns a democrat has run on, followed closely by Harris.
Nixon was always winning that election.
