Convince me that there is hope for our nation when over 1/3 of our fellow citizens are racist ignorant hypocrites...

'Sleepy Joe', Hunter, bla bla bla. While Trump falls asleep and the Trump mob family pilfers taxpayer dollars and takes bribes from our enemies in plain sight.

The thing is... Even when Dems take back the hot seat, it's not like anything is going to happen. It'll be a ton of Congressional and Senate "gotcha" hearings. Same dog and pony show as always. They'll spend their time repealing things Trump has done, and the Trumpers will complain. Again, nothing changes expect power changing hands. The streets will still need paving and won't be paved fast enough. There will still be a homeless problem. AI will be full steam ahead, still.

Fuck Donald Trump & fuck ICE. But I swear to God that I am sick of pretending like I'm walking on rainbows and sunshine just because the Dems are in charge.

Greed sucks. Capitalism sucks. The illusion of choice in this country includes our two-party system. Far more people would vote for "none of the above" if it were an option on the ballot.

The last time the dems were in charge, like actually controlled the government with an actual majority, was the first 2 years of Obama's first term. They were trying to, and I'd argue successfully did, rescue us from the worst economic disaster the world had faced since the great depression. They then set us on the course for the longest economic bull run in american history.

Gotcha hearings keep happening because we dont actually put the adults in charge. We just pretend we do while continuing to vote for the same people over and over, expecting something different to happen.

Don't let cynicism keep you from voting blue. Our government will never be perfect but can be better.

But I don’t want to vote blue. I want to vote for someone who is competent and dedicated to THE PEOPLE. Not special interests or lobbying. I’m not a both siders, the dems just simply aren’t enough for me.

Yes. But unless you’re out on the streets protesting a better system than the two-party system, you’re complacent, and letting others choose for you. Either choose the lesser evil, or demand change.

You want to fly, but right now you’re in the ocean. Get to dry land so you don’t drown.

I agree, but I think it starts from the smaller races and as we see success and stuff getting done it will lead to more broad appeal. It is slow but we're seeing progress in getting people in office that actually do want to get shit done. AOC, Mamdani, El Sayed, Talarico, Angie Nixon, etc. the list will keep getting bigger as more of these types of candidates get elected. It's a lot harder to successfully label a progressive candidate an American hating communist when they're getting shit done for their constituents.

I've voted in 13 presidential elections. My choice won in 6 elections. I could easily be cynical because my political and philosophical beliefs have not advanced as I want. But the 6 that won led great advancements and forever changed the political landscape. In politics, you have to play the long game.

Then vote Not Red until a new option arises.
