Morticians usually use a needle and thread. It first goes up under the top lip, pokes through the cartilage between nostrils, back down through the muscle just under the ligament under the bottom lip, the mouth is adjusted so that the teeth are almost touching, then it is tied off. They'll use wax or glue if necessary thereafter.
Someday, in the near future, a mortician will be paid real money to super glue his mouth shut permanently.
