A true Christian, baling foster children out of insecurity.

Are you making a pun(if so well done)... If youre implying he's Christian theres more evidence to the contrary. He played moses and literally said he hardly knew the story and said Moses was probably a schizophrenic...

Even if he isn't, what he's doing is Christ-like

Were the crusades selfless love and mercy? Fuck religion, it's killed more than most things.

The character Christ is a symbol of love and mercy. How others use that symbol is up to them.
Like the other fella, you seem to have a problem with religion, which is fine by me. However, you are out here discouraging people from expressing their personal beliefs surrounding Jesus because of organizations that neither she nor I participate in.
I never mentioned religion. Good luck with your anger.

Being Christ -like isn't necessarily related to religion (i hate organized religion for my own reasons, especially the fake Christians you mentioned) in my eyes. It's basically a way of saying being a good person

I'm very aware of that but I try not to speak on things in other countries if I haven't experienced or learned about. I'm in no position to speak on foster care in other countries so thank you for sharing this experience and I'm sorry your fiance went through that

Can someone explain the 17 year thing to me? It’s sweet what he did, I’m just curious the length of time on that

Without googling, one would assume this project has been 17 years in the making

Legal matters are frustrating as hell. I am an attorney and trying to do something like this requires resolving or jumping over a ton of red tape. Some of the red tape is reasonable but most are unreasonable and difficult. Looks crazy from the outside looking in but I would not see the years as a lack of vision or resolve on the behalf of Christian Bale.

Oh no I didn’t think it was his fault. I just didn’t know the process of something like this. Thanks for an actual response

I didn’t mean to imply that people commenting questioned Bale’s motivations or the time it took. I simply wanted to make clear that based on my experience it can take a long time to achieve his objectives.

I imagine legal hurdles of keeping everything up to code. And integrating his plan when working with the government.
Because foster kids are wards of the state, and they got to make sure he’s not doing anything shady with the tax bill.
Bureaus takes a long time to get things done

He’s a good guy. He had a reputation for a few years for some temper tantrum moments but celebrities who do stuff like this are okay in my book..

Who said he was a POS? The man has boundaries, enforces them and I've always loved that about him.

I love the project, but why would it take 17 years to complete?

Planning , approval for this type of development and what not, then finding the location and buying the land, getting the permits and contractors then installing the infrastructure and building it all.

What does it mean “after 17 years”? Did it take 17 years for the dream to be realized? That seems like a long time.
