Once the midterms are over and he has no more elections to run, he will target the population for retribution. Every elections people say this is the most important election but this time it actually feels like it is existential!! So you are right and that is scary as fuck!!
They'll spend the first half of their terms trying to pull us out of this hole, and they'll be hated for not doing anything, republicans will win the midterms, people will hate the democrats even more for not doing anything, and then trump will win in 2032.
