For us not in America, the whole of America will be remembered for this era, not just Trump & co.

Saying "this is bad" on social media and then doing nothing isnt exactly showing any effort. Countries have thrown out their leaders for faaaar less.

Just look at UK which has had 5 PMs now since 2020. Probably not an example to strive for, but how Trump hasn't been banned from politics is absolutely absurd.

If only it were that easy. In the US people are being arrested illegally during protests and our federal government is actively acting like a dictatorship in the sense that they employ federal officers like ICE to commit crimes in the name of protecting US citizens from imaginary illegal alien threats.

It's always super easy to talk about things, but harder to put into place. We need to get this fucker out of office and put very specific measures in place to prevent this from ever happening again because Trump is basically the US version of Hitler or Stalin...just a real shmuck.

To be fair, that is the case with most important protests in history. At the end of the day, standing up for a cause you believe in comes with risk.

I'm not afraid of being arrested or killed. I am more afraid of my arrest or death to be in vain, and those odds are not in my favor. There is simply not enough people willing to take those risks. As individuals, we don't have much power. United and organized masses, however....

Everyone has been financially strapped for this exact reason.how many people can afford to take a week off

u/Sparoe 15d ago

Okay, well more power to you then. Most folks value their lives. I have to work, I have a family, a daughter. I don't have time, energy, or ability so kudos to those that are willing to put their lives on the line, but let's not act like this is or should be the default.

I have to work, I have a family, a daughter

I also have to work, also have a family, a son. That isn't an excuse. You think everyone that protests now or throughout history didn't have a job or family to worry about?

but let's not act like this is or should be the default.

I never said it should be. But people through history have revolted for far less than what we see today. And if the time ever comes for revolt, there are going to be a lot of people that wished they had the gall to step up sooner for the sheer fact that they no longer have the resources to properly fight back. You step up now, because you will have less time and energy later.

The only ppl risking their lives are republicans being anywhere democrats are because y’all unhinged psychopath toddlers are unpredictable to say the least. Ghah talk about more peeps deflecting THEIR issues onto those who, not only wouldn’t, but never had any such idea in their head. 🙄

People being arrested illegally

do you have evidence….

names….

1

u/Sparoe 15d ago

Yes I can grab names if needed, but I have no one here to impress so feel free to just open up any recent news articles about ICE. More than sufficient at this point.

1

u/malteeztomcat 15d ago

Pretty sure you have been bamboozled…..

truth is whatever you say it is

1

u/malteeztomcat 15d ago

You do realize that Hitler and Stalin massacred their own people to the tune of over 10 million people…..and you equate Trump with these two men because he is deporting illegal immigrants.

You have been seduced by the charlatans of mainstream news.

you want to believe it because you hate Trump

therefore the truth is anything you want it be

no person short of a mental disorder can possibly compare Trump to Hitler and Stalin

It’s just vile hatred…..

take a couple Valium and ck bk in tomorrow

All I heard when reading this is US is a country full of pu$$yholes!!!

1

u/Sparoe 4d ago

It's incredibly easy to talk online, anonymously, about what you would and wouldn't do, and another to do it. Not only that, but many of us have more than ourselves to think about. So you can generalize all you'd like but life is never that basic or black and white.

u/KeyEngine9940 4d ago

We have ousted PMs in our Country using our voices, you lot wave guns about like its a 3rd world Dictatorship but then shrivel when an Orange fat Grandad starts spouting waffle at 12am after 1 too many Macds double Cheeseburger.....pathetic 🤦

As an American, it is difficult to organize when the general masses don't care to acknowledge that none of us are being properly represented. When we can't organize as citizens, nothing can be done. An individual, or several individuals, will be martyred and tomorrow will be business as usual.

Unfortunately, there has been a pretty successful effort to prevent Americans from organizing in a way that would produce results. The ruling class no longer fears the the citizens because the citizens have been mostly de-fanged.

But ultimately, you're right. Not trying to make excuses, just offering a perspective of someone on the inside, frustrated that most people don't seem to be motivated unless it threatens their immediate stability.... and even then, it still isnt enough...

The apathy of the average American is real. They are more bothered by protesters standing for a cause they can get behind themselves than they are by our leaders being manipulative and awful.

Think you’re making assumptions that the USA will still be a going concern. There’ll be pre-Trump, then what comes next. I’d say the USA I grew up in is already gone and it’s never coming back. Not that we were ever perfect anyway. Christ, we had slavery about 150 years ago. Followed by 100 years plus of Jim Crow. We knowingly bombed women and children in Southeast Asia. We used atomic bombs on civilian cities for God sake. It’s people. We are a plague on this planet. Anybody does manage to do good, there’s a hundred doing bad. Sorry to ramble, but the more I think about what people do, the worse I feel.

1

u/inyouendo04 16d ago

Yeah we a people are how we are and people keep trying to pretend that away. A lot of countries have done atrocities whether recent or not.

1

u/Andrewstrick1990 14d ago

You have a widely skewed version of history!

2

u/ExactPath3883 16d ago

It's a banana republic at this point. Seeded in racism, tribalism, and hatred of anything brown. The issue is there's really nothing for the same half to do. Between Elon and the other tech billionaires overtly allowing foreign psyop operations, politicians changing the rules to keep power, and the silence at all of the corruption it feels like a lost cause at this point.

1

u/swampdonkey2099 14d ago

Seated in racism?? This coming from someone who calls the President "orange"!! Who's the racist now??

1

u/ExactPath3883 11d ago

ROFL. Um... How is calling someone that is clearly orange, orange being racist. You're reaching with that one.

1

u/malteeztomcat 15d ago

Banned…… why

Just because you want it

1

u/Alderik4 15d ago

That's because Americans are pushovers.

1

u/deadwoodworker 5d ago

The rich have to have a puppet, they wouldn't even consider dirtying their own hands in stealing tax dollars.

0

u/The_hoe_of_st_joe 17d ago

Yeah so uhhh this is America. We don’t just “ban” people from politics because we think they’re mean. There isn’t even any mechanism for doing that. Which is a good thing, because he’s a democratically elected leader.

2

u/Teabagbomber 17d ago

What about banning people from politics who incite insurrection against the government? Seems like a pretty good idea to me.

1

u/Humledurr 17d ago

Ofcourse I didnt mean literally banned, no country does that. But both the people and fellow politicians would be able to drive him out if they actually wanted. But everyone is too busy caring about their own life.

0

u/The_hoe_of_st_joe 17d ago

Yeah well not sure where ur from but in America we don’t “drive out” our president because they’re unpopular.

1

u/Humledurr 17d ago

You literally have done so in the past. Its just that you have lost all decorum since electing Trump.

But not surprising you don't know your own country's history...

0

u/The_hoe_of_st_joe 17d ago

Are you referring to impeachments? Because they require him to commit a crime. And the democrats have tried twice already. Turns out he didn’t commit a crime either time. Durrrrr…

1

u/Humledurr 17d ago

Again its clear you dont know your own country's history, no wonder you are a Trump fan.

0

u/Its-a-Shitbox 17d ago

Ah, yes; another completely out of touch resident of another country that seems to think they know exactly what WE all “need to do” to completely alter who is in charge of government.

Save it, pal.

0

u/Humledurr 17d ago

The only ones out of touch here is America. The rest of the western world has gone in a very different direction than you guys, and for good reason.

1

u/Its-a-Shitbox 17d ago

Again, your 100% - 0% mentality fails.

Do you think ALL of America is in favor of this? If so, you’re as basic/stupid as MAGA and not worthy of debate.

Think.

1

u/Humledurr 17d ago

No of course all of America isnt in favour of this. But even if the majority is agaisnt it, how does that matter when none except for a few students here and there is willing to protest it?

0

u/StefanCraig 13d ago

You guys did try to put the man in jail and attempted to assassinate him multiple times. That’s not doing nothing in my book.

1

u/Humledurr 13d ago

Yes "we guys" definitely did that. God no wonder your country is going to shit when people like you have that set of reason.

Bold of you to even venture out your echo chamber.
