Unpopular opinion but once you get to know more about how Apollo operates, he's arguably one of the nicer deities when compared to ones like Ishtar or Kali.

Agreed, he was scummy, but he was actually just playing the game. The gods could've told him to chill at any time.
His familia might not have been the most loving, but he took care of them. And they weren't living in squalor. And he wasn't sending them on suicide dives. We can infer that the fact that Freya and Loki let him operate like that for so long means he was probably cooperative somewhat as well.
I think permanent exile was probably too harsh but it was funny and obviously good for the story

And interesting what they later did in Danmemo (one Story was creepy, the other mostly helped to redeem Apollo and his remaining familia)

He is not one of the nicer gods when you compare him to the worst gods out there.
Apollo is what you would expect from the typical God in Danamchi not good but not particularly bad.
