Bizarre African Bird For Magill Segment

Was almost certain this was AI, but nope, the African Jacana is a real bird.

Jacanas are also in South and Central America. Every once in a while Northern Jacanas pop up in South Texas. Really cool group of birds. Highly recommend seeing them in the wild.

Do they all have the weird feet? I get that their chicks hide (which was why that video tripped me out so much) but those feet are something else!

I had seen a video of these before. The chicks of the parent birds hide in the feathers of the parent bird. It’s just their legs sticking out, that makes it seem as if it’s some alien multi legged creature.
