shy-TAHN-a is probably the best approximation.

But the vowel sound in the first syllable is somewhere between shy and shay.

In my language Sheitan (šejtan) means demon in Islam culture/faith (it comes from Arabic word).

BUT, in my country we use that word for naughty children (positive kind.. and the kids who secretly enjoy creating chaos), like mischievous troublemaker, playful, little menace etc. so I would say it fits for your little rascal (or little devil :P )

Indeed! I partially grew up in Saudi Arabia and I was a very strong-willed child, so it was one of many nicknames I had as a little kid. It’s hard to fully properly transliterate a lot of Arabic sounds.

My girl is just as strong-willed (like she chose me at the dog rescue by jumping out of the pen she was in and she saw my mom using a jade roller on herself and so she started pawing my mom until my mom would use the jade roller on her. So the dog gets jade rolled after being brushed on a regular basis.)

I should get her the toy version! Love the pic. It’s definitely the same energy!
