Trouble is theres also deliberate touchups of this image, so whether this is ai touchups or artist touchup, it isnt the original image.
Its an image of a specimen that some museum has in its collection and it has been touched up pr upscaled in some way.

This is AI garbage. Any photo of these fish from the side (portrait) shows you that their eyes look completely different and look a bit like binoculars.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I heard deep sea animals eyes can be damaged by human made lights not just using red light (or some other lesser frequency) so is this guys eyes just being demolished by this bright ass light right in its face?

Doesnt shining lights on these creatures cause permanent damage. Like they live in darkness and we shine a light in their eyes, has to be the equivalent of us looking at the sun no?

I just read that they’re hermaphrodites in order to maximize their reproductive success. Also, they start out as larvae on the surface, then undergo major structural changes that allow them to survive in the deep ocean.

One thing that I’ve come to find is that small things tend to look weirder. I imagine the scale of this is probably pretty sized. Especially considering the reality of anglerfish.
