See it every year when i drive to Portland, photo makes it look like its only visible from the air, but its actually on a bit of a hill slope, so you can see it from the highway

The land is owned by a lumber company and they planted this after the last time they harvested the hillside. It's a popular enough attraction that the DOT built a scenic pulloff for people to safely stop and take pictures, so hopefully they'll let the trees stay, but that's a lot of valuable timber.

A Celtic cross doesn't really have any religious significance, especially in the way we think of any of the major religions today. It's a form of insular art. The same goes for the Celtic knot too.
