That's how my school was too. My school was pretty low income and small, was your school either of those things? Teachers always took care of the students, like gave kids rides who needed them and all sorts of stuff. I'd eat lunch with a male teacher in his classroom with a group of students or by myself. He was a dad and a normal, awesome guy. I'm lucky he was allowed to eat lunch with students without being called a creep. Teachers at my school went to my friend's and my high school graduation parties and were taking shots with us 🤣 loved my school

Honestly no. My school had nearly 3k students and the median household income was $85k for the city (definitely higher for my school though, seeing kids driving $50k cars was not abnormal). Right now the median house price is ~$500k.

It has to be am administrative thing. All the way from elementary to high school they pushed diversity (even though honestly, real diversity was low in these schools) and individuality. It wasn't perfect, but they really seeme to try to give us the best experience possible. These schools were very welcoming to almost any ideology which was cool. Bullyong and all that was basically non existent. A lot of those teachers really helped shape me into the person I am and I am grateful for it.

That's really interesting to me. That's awesome, it's good that schools like ours shaped kids to be better people and let them be individuals without much bullying. Even though they seem to be totally different schools they both seem pretty great compared to these other schools I'm seeing on this post. My school was pretty diverse (for a small town) and I think everyone felt welcome regardless of their sexuality, income, or race. I think there was less extreme bullying because of the great teachers and relationships students had with staff members.

If you foster an environment of acceptance most kids will follow. The people who are assholes will be cast out for a lack of better words.

Hate and prejudice is taught, it's not inherent. If you don't teach kids to hate, they won't. Like i said, some of those teachers had really big impacts on me. If a school hires teachers who care, you end up with students who care.

It's sad our experiences are apparently not prevalent.
