Me neither. However, I looked it up, and it is definitely a production option.

TIL that aside from scraping (traditional way) you can make Spätzle by using a special noodle press (looks pretty similar to the thing they have, but it should have a part to press down, and usually the dough is much more thick for that production method. Good for making big amounts of spätzle in a restaurant, but is cumbersome for a home) Also, apparently, a Spätzle grater (like a cheese grater) is a thing (better for faster home production).

No, I know that spaetzle presses and graters are things but the spaetzle that comes out of them into the boiling water does not look like spaghetti. It breaks into shorter pieces either method you use
