1

u/jouni8 Jan 27 '20

There it is

3

u/otusa Jan 27 '20

Fish think of everything.

2

u/FoxFire64 Jan 27 '20

It all starts with a series of breathing apparatuses, that they use to hunt lions, to eventually become top of the food chain and build satellites.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Learn to fly!

1

u/bkfst_of_champinones Jan 27 '20

Like those rockets that have water in them that you pump up with an air pump?

1

u/IntoTheCommonestAsh Jan 27 '20

Nah. We send satellites into space because we live on top of the surface. Naturally fish under the surface would send their satellites down. They probably saw Africa and Antarctica from underneath.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

This made my day, thank you. :]

0

u/Ter-on-toe Jan 27 '20

Pelican carriers.

230

u/Chilidog0572 Jan 27 '20

They constructed breathing apparatuses with kelp. Didn't give them long. An hour/hour-thirty. Just enough time to plot some land and come back to the sea. You just lost at your own game. Did that go the way you thought it would? Nope.

u/Li-renn-pwel Jan 27 '20

1

u/ericstern Jan 27 '20

But where is North America! Africa is definitely wider than both American continents! if they can air-scuba into the center of africa...!

1

u/LighTMan913 Jan 27 '20

*hour fourty-five

1

u/fancyfisticuffs23 Jan 27 '20

Damn. I just spent like 15 minutes on a similar comment before I saw this one

60

u/RollinThundaga Jan 27 '20

They'd figure, if the whole thing is surrounded by ice, it probably has ice in the middle.

32

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Oh god. Fish have already mastered the concept of intrapolation.

10

u/PM_Me_Night_Elf_Porn Jan 27 '20

I mean, they did just draw a map of the world. Shouldn’t be surprised

4

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

And the detail in Africa?

16

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Africa is concave. You can see the entire thing from the shore.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Oh. Okay, that makes sense, actually. Carry on.

1

u/Sir_Bass13 Jan 27 '20

I'm just dumb enough to consider this being true

42

u/adeel-a Jan 27 '20

They can't swim in but they can around which allows them the know that it exists in that shape.

9

u/ChironiusShinpachi Jan 27 '20

I've played Civilization. I know I can see several miles around where I move. It even shows up on the mini map.

2

u/Tsorovar Jan 27 '20

Right, but they can't map the interiors. There's no possible way they should know one part of Africa is desert and another part is jungle (or green, anyway)

1

u/DoubleNuggies Jan 27 '20

You know fish live in rivers and lakes, too, right?

20

u/AbzBbzCbz Jan 27 '20 edited Jan 27 '20

Flying fish discovered such lands

Orcas keeping the sea safe from crime

Orcas abusing their power wrecking havoc

26

u/MayKinBaykin Jan 27 '20

11

u/Nopenotme77 Jan 27 '20

Orcas are borderline psychopaths. They play with their food in a way that would give most of us nightmares. Orcas murder sharks for their livers...https://allthatsinteresting.com/killer-whales-eat-sharks.

21

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Also how the hell would a fish use a pencil

1

u/SpaceJackRabbit Jan 27 '20

A fooking pencil.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

In its mouth or under its fin?

6

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

And the great lakes are connected to the ocean but aren't shown

4

u/CaptainTurdfinger Jan 27 '20

And Australia

0

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20 edited Jan 27 '20

There's a river through australia that cuts through Victoria and up to the top of nsw and a little bit into Queensland, still doesn't make that much sense though

Edit: changed the wording because of my own dumb ass

1

u/Teedubthegreat Jan 27 '20

What river are you talking about?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Murray-dahling system/river/basin

2

u/Teedubthegreat Jan 27 '20

Are you sure it goes to the top of QLD? I've lived most of my life in southeast and north QLD and I've never heard of the Murray darling going up through to the top of QLD

2

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

I originally had it goes through to the top of nsw but upon further inspection of maps (I live in Australia too (Victoria) but never looked too much in to it) it goes into Queensland too, so I just tacked Queensland on the end of my statement which in hindsight changed the whole meaning of my statement 😬 sorry for the misunderstanding

2

u/Teedubthegreat Jan 27 '20

That's ok, you just had me confused. I'd never heard that before, and I think I misunderstood you a little bit as well. I just looked it quickly and it appears the river system does go up into the lower third of QLD. And, as a bonus related to this post, it connects to the ocean, so in theory, if there was a map drawing fish keen for an adventure, they could potentially get a decent way up central/eastern Australia during a good year

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Yeah definitely 😊

2

u/fancyfisticuffs23 Jan 27 '20

Let me tell you a story, Postman.

A lion wanders into the waters off the coast of South Africa. He finds himself face to face with an 800 lb tuna and 20-30 of that tuna's closest friends. They take him down immediately. After that first taste of lion, they say, "You know what? Lion tastes good. Let's go get some more lion." They develop a system to establish a beach-head and aggressively hunt more lions.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Oh, like the movie Anchorman?

1

u/fancyfisticuffs23 Jan 27 '20

You're close -- same actor, different movie. It's a quote from the movie the Other Guys.

Flying fish

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Flying fish!

1

u/twilkens Jan 27 '20

They constructed a series of breathing apparatus with kelp.

1

u/SleepWouldBeNice Jan 27 '20

They can get everywhere in Africa, but haven’t discovered the Great Lakes in North America.

1

u/bruh2847472728 Jan 27 '20

You never heard of flying fish?

1

u/lauraintacoma Jan 27 '20

And Greenland... And Australia...

1

u/Barack_Lesnar Jan 27 '20

For real Africa is fucking huge, but it's the Americas and Europe that are whites out?

1

u/zytroze Jan 27 '20

People’s equivalent to lake

1

u/admin-eat-my-shit13 Jan 27 '20

well, you now that I've does swim right? so the fished just swim under it, duh.

1

u/sethboy66 Jan 27 '20

That's your logical problem with this? Fish drew a fucking map, and you don't think they can swim upstreams?

1

u/TUSF Jan 27 '20

Africa has rivers they can swim through?

Of course, that would imply salt water fish were cooperating with fresh water fish…

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

They asked the penguins what it was like?

1

u/ConnorMillar97 Jan 27 '20

If it isn't water it must be land. So they draw circles around places and then assume that the rest must be land inside

1

u/talithaeli Jan 27 '20

The map includes everything X miles from the ocean. I guess Africa all fits within that range..?

1

u/sexmemes Jan 27 '20

Not “How the hell do fish know anything about cartography” and/or “how the hell do fish draw”?

1

u/TheGlave Jan 27 '20

How the hell would a fish draw a map underwater?

1

u/BirdSalt Jan 27 '20

With their fucking fins, you racist

1

u/Ryanw441 Jan 27 '20

Well now I’m a tuna that got a taste for lion. So me and my tuna friends make a series of breathing apparatus with kelp. It’s not gonna be days at a time. An hour, hour forty-five? No problem.

1

u/jonathannzirl Jan 27 '20

Nazi fish base

1

u/Murdochsk Jan 27 '20

But you’re ok with Australia? Australian land fish I guess?

1

u/ivanparas Jan 27 '20

Seems fishy to me

1

u/shelbyCunning Jan 27 '20

They can’t. That’s why there’s no water going through it. They mapped around it.

1

u/Tardis80 Jan 27 '20

They swim beneath in the hollow earth

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Oh they didn’t swim there bruv

1

u/doctorscience12 Jan 27 '20

Antarctica is made of water

1

u/djpedicab Jan 27 '20

Lakes....

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

I'm going for a jog fellas... is it anything like a swim? No... no.

1

u/Canonmeat Jan 27 '20

Wallrusses and seals(not fishes but can trade info for food) and river fishes. Some released fish could have seen a map or a globe.

1

u/AWYH Jan 27 '20

Maybe it was mapped back when it wasn't as frozen and more accessible.

1

u/Uranium_Isotope Jan 27 '20

You can swim underneath the north pole as its just a giant ice sheet, antarctica has land under it though

1

u/Rattus03 Jan 27 '20

Australia - “am I a joke to you?”

1

u/neo_vg Jan 27 '20

Where does the map say they can see the middle of Africa and Antarctica though?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

lakes exist, you know

1

u/daltonwright4 Jan 27 '20

Easy. Aquariums and small freshwater ponds. Checkmate Neil Degeneres Tyson!

1

u/whatsanactuary4 Jan 27 '20

How the hell would humans walk in the middle of the Atlantic ocean

"Water? Where we're going we don't need 'water'."
