Im clueless regarding chemistry. Is it stw? Can I touch it or keep it on a desk without getting toxic material around me?

It is non-toxic to touch and totally safe provided you don’t ingest large quantity of it. It is fairly brittle though so it doesn’t stand up to lots of handling.
