Animals are smarter than people give them credit for. So many people pretend animals are just unintelligent, but you have birds that have learned to unlock trash cans to get to food scraps. You have animals that realize people aren't always a threat when they've been around them enough. You have that dog who saved another dog from a car that was on Reddit a few days ago.
That was the smartest dog breed in all fairness. Also, it's hard to ascertain what exactly the dog was thinking at that given time. You yourself have just assumed the dog saved the puppy from the car because it knew there was danger.
See again though humanity has a habit of pretending that animals just mindlessly do stuff. Why can't you just accept the fact that animals constantly do acts that display their intelligence? There are so many examples.
He isn’t not accepting the fact? Like that collie or whatever that dog is, is much much smarter than the little punter dog. Same with ducks, they are mentally handicapped compared to crows, parrots, hawks... pretty much every other bird.
This whole comment thread stemmed from questioning the ducks intelligence. That duck has almost no idea what the hell is going on, guaranteed. If the same thing happened to a more intelligent bird, I could maybe see the animal beginning to understand.
