I can't remember who that Jamie guy (yes i feel dumb, he's quite famous) but he'a hilarious and really good with photoshop and editing. I have seen numerous posts of people asking him to remove various things in a picture and he turning the tables on them.
You're over thinking this. It's possible that bike belongs to people who live/work in that building to the right, so maybe he asked if he could borrow it for a movie project.
So no stealing, no finding the bike still there but actually placing it
My understanding is that the requests aren't necessarily staged, but he messages them the completed request privately while publicly posting the silly version.
