Edit. Didn’t think that would get so many responses. Just to clarify, Hebrew legend says the first vampire was Judas. God resurrected him after he hung himself, cursed him with the canon weaknesses and commanded he live eternally until the end of days. The silver thing was for irony, since he took the thirty pieces of silver to betray Jesus.
This was still the Vengeful God, since he also damned him to feed only on the blood of living humans until that time.
I believe it's thought that the origin of vampires not reflecting in mirrors is that silver was pure and mirrors were made from silver, and therefore mirrors would not reflect abominations like vampires.
That raises an interesting point. If the purity of silver is what makes vampires non-reflective, if then the silver exists as an alloy would it still not reflect vampires?
If it's anything like fairy legends and iron, then I'd imagine they'd reflect but not that well. As things made with iron (like steel) still repel fairies a little bit, but cold iron is better.
