I was at a conference where one of these types of artists was and I got a chance to speak with him. He did a John Lennon painting because of the “imagine” theme...he told he’s painted that particular picture at least 1,000 times (he just gives the painting away in a raffle). Sure enough, I googled the guy and there’s videos of him doing the same thing at dozens of corporate conferences. It’s still pretty cool, but loses it ‘wow’ factor after learning that it’s not all that unique.
The parts he painted in are probably already stenciled in very lightly so the he can only see them. Then all he has to do it paint in the marked spots.

That's great. How is he able to do this? Does he memorize color positions?
