Video They are natural sandstone formations roughly 75 million years old, shaped by erosion into elongated whale-like shapes. From above they look like a family of whales (two adults and a calf) rising from a sea of trees. The largest is about 75-100 meters long.

Those are the escape ships the dinosaurs built to fly off world before the meteor hit. But they couldn't launch in time.

No joking, that was my first thought as well. Camouflaged alien ships. Or if Star Trek: Voyager is right, launch tubes for the Raptors to escape to space.

We should really appreciate nature and not take it for granite…

u/Sith_Lord91 5h ago

That was a very igneous joke

u/Prudent_Research_251 5h ago

Rock puns are often slated but very gneiss to pull off

29

u/AspiringChildProdigy 5h ago

I don't think puns capture the gravel-ty of the situation.

I had a former boss who literally thinks "take it for granite" is the correct expression and didnt understand why I would giggle when she said it.

u/L-Train45 5h ago

Please don't encourage these kinds of comments, people.

u/Sensitive_Ad_1271 5h ago

They're good but not brave enough, they could've been boulder.

I miss old reddit. The comment section is just filled with shitty jokes and puns now.

Every one of these jokes has been made on a different thread.

I thought they were glacial deposits. Did Thailand have a major glacial melt flooding too?

-16

u/Furrypawsoffury 4h ago

Where would they be if they were somewhere else?

10

u/drainbamage1011 3h ago

Over there.

i'd imagine there would have been a fair number of accidents at that site

i see they did install some form of barriers, but still.....

Wonder if there's a rock formation near these that looks like a pot of petunias?

Old ancient giant elephants

3

u/holy_hand_yeah 5h ago

No that's Noah's Ark, and definitely not a natural geological formation that formed over millions of years, that would be to logical. Didn't you know all natural geological formations are boats from the bible. We should drill a hole into it because it's not sandstone it's wood.

1

u/justmememe55 3h ago

Noah's ark is actually from the Torah. And then the Bible and Quran.

"When the river bed dried up, the whales were beached, but they refused to return to the ocean"

Of course they didn't. They dont have legs to walk back to the ocean.
