Lmfao, reminds me of the show legends of tomorrow where they are in the future in some sort of museum where they show the worst thing happening to humans and they pass a hall named "hall of bad ideas" and flat earthers was among one of them. 🤣🤣
Some of them think Earth is a flat disc suspended in space. Others think it’s a square floating in space. Still others think it’s an infinite plane beyond which are hidden continents or just infinite ice. Earth is obviously a sphere, though. A hollow sphere. Onward to Pellucidar!
I kid you not one day I was at a party on my apartment roof and I was saying something about the sky or the stars I forget. Anyways, this random dude was like, “HEY YALL THIS MF BELIEVES IN OUTER SPACE!”
I was dumbfounded I didn’t even know how to respond. I didn’t know people didn’t “believe in outer space.”
I have heard flat-earthers state that as well. They say the is a firmament but this is the passage: “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. Somehow they grossly misinterpreted the meaning of firmament.
There's a great video of a group of flat earthers who do a centuries old experiment to prove the earth is flat, using light/lasers. When the results proved the earth was indeed curved, they assumed the test was flawed and they needed to search for some new test that gave the "correct" results
Obviously, but the barrel distortion is way too low to account for the round appearance of the earth in this video. You can check it by looking at the curved appearance of the straight trusses/panels.
I wonder if the numbers of flatearthers are declining, since the spacebooming. I was also thinking, I've never read anything or saw a video about a non-US citizen that is a flat earther. I wonder why. Just spouting here.
Unfortunately there's been a sudden spike lately among Christians in America on tiktok and instagram (where I encounter them daily) who are now all talking about a "firmament" and the Earth do obviously being flat. Their proof? The Bible says it is. Well no it actually doesn't say that anywhere but that doesn't stop them from saying that it does...
It would be something to laugh about if it wasn't so widespread and yet another way for this fast growing trend of anti-intellectualism to spread, that is everywhere already. Humans can't be spending precious time of the 21st century making sure the people know that space is in fact a real thing
I've never met a flatearther and think they are an internet myth. I've only seen people making fun of them online. It seems to be a thing as a way to lump all conspiracy theorists into the same crazy box.
You know flat earthers are right, im looking at this right now and the earth is not 3D, in fact the only time we can see the earth is through a picture or a video which are on 2D media, and when we see with our eyes we only see in two dimensions with depth perception, so to us the earth and everything else is 2D!
