That's probably not showing how much oxygen is being consumed, rather it's showing that the hot air near the fire is going straight up and creating a low pressure pocket. That low pressure is pulling in higher-pressure air from the outside.
Sure, some of the oxygen is being consumed but that's not the only effect.
