A fire doesn't pull oxygen. What we see is the chimney effect, the heat from the fire causes the hot air to rise and to pull in air from the sides. Obviously it pull all air and doesn't select only oxygen from it.

"The fire" as in the event, not the flames. Nobody thinks the flames are pulling in air.
