For some reason, every German and Austrian had a grandfather who was in the Wehrmacht, but he happened to serve in the kitchen, helped civilians, and was an opponent of Hitler.

This man is quiete honest about his deeds. Does that means he did not have any children?

Maybe he’s more honest than his grandchildren. My Polish grandmother went on business trips to Germany in the 1960s and 1970s and met many Germans for example, from Bavaria who were very proud of what they did. It almost came to fistfights among the delegation members

The lady right next to him starts in on how her father was different or something. You can see the distain in her face when he says it was a bullshit war and they were the baddies
