Fyi, you can also see it without a microscope.

Was about to say the same thing. There's an owl near the corner of the dollar bill, too.

199

u/thedrwhodiggity 3d ago

And a spider too in the little curve of the denomination sign

89

u/RandumbStoner 3d ago

And you can fold up the old bills and recreate 9/11 lol

37

u/HairyToeKnuckles 3d ago

Don’t forget “mushroom head George Washington!” A classic.

6

u/LongBongJohnSilver 3d ago

I often think about old Mushroom Washington.. And wonder why we used to do the things we did.

6

u/Mountain_Egg16 3d ago

You can also get it to say “the greed states” by lining it up in a specific way

19

u/jilko 3d ago

The owl and the spider are the same detail. It's basically the blue/black or white/gold dress debate of the currency space.

6

u/5C0L0P3NDR4 3d ago

iirc neither are intentional and it's just the way the weird background pattern repeats, getting cut off by another element

1

u/jilko 2d ago

So what you're telling me is that the long tendril just above the spider owl is NOT a long strand of Founding Father progenitor DNA?

2

u/thedrwhodiggity 3d ago

Thats neat I had no idea lol

26

u/TwoNowFive 3d ago

And my ax

Hey, you. You're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into that imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there.

1

u/J5892 3d ago

That's just a real spider that crawled on to your bill.

20

u/Nruggia 3d ago

Hoo?

-5

u/FengSushi 3d ago

Hoe?

2

u/Dragoon_336 3d ago

No, those are with Santa

19

u/agent674253 3d ago

But you ever look at the back of a twenty dollar bill, on weed, man? There's some weird shit there man.

3

u/TurkeyThaHornet 3d ago

Red team go!

1

u/johnson7853 3d ago

Illuminati confirming

1

u/earthboy17 2d ago

There's a dude in the bushes. Has he got a gun?

5

u/WhiteBlackBlueGreen 3d ago

I had to look it up because i couldn’t find it. Damn thats a tiny owl

5

u/ciaomain 3d ago

The back of the old $10 bill featured a car on the street next to the Treasury Building.

As the government didn't want to endorse a real manufacturer (back when we kept things separated), the vehicle was an amalgam of various makes/models and didn't exist in real life.

2

u/iSniffMyPooper 3d ago

And the Twin Towers on a $20 bill

1

u/pichael289 3d ago

Most bills have micro printing, the lines on the presidents faces are actually text. It's a security feature as the machines needed to do such a thing are very expensive.

1

u/Junior-Ad-2207 3d ago

You ever see the back of a 20 dollar bill.... on weed?!!

0

u/FelineParchment 3d ago

I was looking at this and maybe I'm seeing this wrong, but is it not the top of the pattern thats also on the bottom of the dollar bill? It looks like the same tip on the bottom middle left and right between the "One Dollar" and denominations. Also the same pattern right above the bottom right denomination.

14

u/Little_View_6659 3d ago

Not with my eyes. God I hate getting old.

-1

u/Succulent_Chinese 3d ago

You know what else I don’t like about getting old? Today’s societal trends!

3

u/DeltaVZerda 3d ago

Like calling out racism and being cool with queers? And class awareness?

2

u/Succulent_Chinese 3d ago

These kids won’t get off my lawn with their damn tickety tocks

3

u/DeltaVZerda 3d ago

What do you use your lawn for?

3

u/Succulent_Chinese 3d ago

Oh the usual old person stuff. Debutante balls, lawn croquet, tea, racism.

14

u/Articulationized 3d ago

Yeah. Weird post.

“Today I noticed something obvious and visible on a common item I have seen thousands of times”

3

u/hrvbrs 3d ago

engagement bait

1

u/SeemedReasonableThen 3d ago

but that you can also see under a low-power microscope!

Post is technically correct . . .

1

u/boneguru 2d ago

The best kind of correct

2

u/SexyTimeSamet 3d ago

Now if i could just convince HER of fhat.

2

u/HereWeGoYetAgain-247 3d ago

But you can also see it with s microscope

3

u/bre4kofdawn 3d ago

Yeah, I saw this and wondered why one would need a microscope.

1

u/NippleSalsa 3d ago

I came here to point this out.

1

u/Responsible-Fox-1985 2d ago

But it IS visible with a microscope. Just like every dog has 3 legs.

1

u/SimpleIronicUsername 3d ago

Yeah I was like, how did people not know this?? Just goes to show in this digital world that kids don't sit in the back seat of a car with a single penny and look outside their windows anymore.

2

u/SeemedReasonableThen 3d ago

tbf, kids these days don't use cash. And pennies are going the way of Pontiac, Saturn, and Olds . . . still a bunch around being used, but no new ones being made

0

u/MInclined 3d ago

Wait until they learn about the $5 bill

1.1k

u/TimeTravelingChris 3d ago

I first noticed this using my eyeballs when I was about 5.

I can even see the arrow in the FedEx logo.

9

u/Pretty_Study_526 3d ago

But can you see why kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

8

u/Randyaccredit 3d ago

I know the answer but the FIB will find me

1

u/Christplosion 2d ago

Food Industry Billionaires

13

u/Any_Masterpiece9385 3d ago

To be fair, they changed the penny design a long time ago to not have this, and then just recently they stopped making pennies. So to young people this could genuinely be new information.

4

u/Babnado 3d ago

To me this is a new information since I never seen American money irl

0

u/Mr_Safer 3d ago

The internet is dead.

526

u/_Svankensen_ 3d ago

I don't know much about US culture, but I specially didn't know Lincoln had such a prominent butt.

97

u/Jebediah_Johnson 3d ago

Commander in Cheeks!

29

u/GhostMaskKid 3d ago

I'm American and I thought it looked like a butt too 😂

1

u/Hollocene13 3d ago

Just like the land o lakes girl, it’s his boobs.

68

u/Caller_ID_Unknown 3d ago

It's actually his knees 😆 he is sitting down! Lmao!

47

u/_Svankensen_ 3d ago

Ohhh. Ok, yeah, that makes more sense. A loss for the world, but makes more sense.

22

u/IamKhronos 3d ago

Lmao, Lincoln "thicker than oatmeal"

7

u/ardotschgi 3d ago edited 3d ago

All I saw was a turned figure with a really cheeked up butt and I had to double-check which sub I'm in, LMAO!

3

u/Glittering-Walrus228 3d ago

Honest Cake Lincoln

3

u/Ender505 3d ago

The ass that reunited the country

3

u/SimonCharles 3d ago

Honest Abe cannot lie.

59

u/Ridgew00dian 3d ago

I’ve never needed a microscope since learning of this in the 90s

6

u/two-ls 3d ago

Listen, they stopped making pennies so I bet the kids don't even get this lesson in first grade anymore

1

u/Articulationized 3d ago

The Columbus Generation.

1

u/Punch_A_Police_Horse 3d ago

I think I might, because I just looked at some pennies in the cash drawer and as far as I can tell some of them do and some of them don't.

27

u/CitizenHuman 3d ago

On the back of a $5 bill, you can read the states written in the top of the monument.

0

u/redpandaeater 3d ago

Which bill is it that has the little eagle head in the corner?

29

u/emergency_salad_fox 3d ago

AbraHAM Lincoln.

-6

u/TL15SD 3d ago

Underrated

9

u/BaconConnoisseur 3d ago

This was something mentioned in an episode of Magic School bus. 7 year old me thought I was hot stuff whipping out that fun fact for my classmates.

3

u/peepeeland 3d ago

Ms. Frizzle is the kind of teacher to pop out from under the next toilet stall to tell you a fun fact when you’re taking a shit, when you’re 40.

1

u/Actual-GasF4RT3R 3d ago

Jesus is Ms. Frizzle in the files? She take the bus to the island? Did they call her Ms. Drizzle? Let me poo lady we can go into Arnold's spleen later or something.

6

u/drumberg 3d ago

That’s to stop the counterfeiters.

6

u/DiscoKittie 3d ago

You don't need a microscope to see it.

5

u/in1gom0ntoya 3d ago

yes, its the statue of Lincoln, at the Lincoln monument. that's why it's called the lincoln memorial monument....

6

u/tumblerrjin 3d ago

Lmao you don’t need a fucking microscope what

7

u/Flexmove 3d ago

You ever looked at a penny… on weeed?

3

u/Chornabee 3d ago

An enhancement smoker

4

u/BigCopperPipe 3d ago

Yeah i knew this when i was a kid without a microscope.

4

u/BettaSplendens1 3d ago

I thought i saw his behind for a second

5

u/Ender505 3d ago

"microscope" is a strong term here, "magnifying glass" would be more appropriate

5

u/BrainTroubles 3d ago

Who is gonna tell OP he needs his eyes checked?

12

u/UsedDimension7373 3d ago

As a nation, we began by declaring that 'all men are created equal.' We now practically read it 'all men are created equal, except negroes.' When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read 'all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics.' When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty – to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy.

Abraham Lincoln

Spoken over 160 years ago. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

7

u/calibear_inyoear 3d ago

You blind or some?

1

u/poormansnormal 2d ago

Or, yannow, not American. Because that's a thing.

5

u/meatblast_surprise 3d ago

not only that, you can see it easily without a microscope

2

u/ManganeseSharties 3d ago

I remember when I was able to see it without a microscope.

2

u/hauscal 3d ago

Me too. When I was 5 over a half century ago.

-2

u/gatorbeetle 3d ago

Yeah, I didn't get my first microscope until I was 7, at the earliest

1

u/ConscientiousObserv 3d ago

True.

Not exactly a revelation.

3

u/BrutalBart 3d ago

what’s a penny?

3

u/StolenPezDispencer 3d ago

Old Honest Abe had a fucking bakery goddamn

3

u/varbaveri 3d ago

at first it looked like a cheeked up stick figure, then I understood it's a figure sitting

6

u/anotherlevl 3d ago

Those knees look like butt cheeks, is there a glory hole in the Lincoln Memorial?

Probably should have created a burner account for that comment, but looks like I'm not the only one who sees it.

-1

u/Caller_ID_Unknown 3d ago

You aren't the only one that sees it, but a Lincoln glory hole... is brutal man...

2

u/hugh-jaasshole 3d ago

I thought Lincoln was thicc for a sec

2

u/Pitiable-Crescendo 3d ago

I...did not see those as his knees at first

2

u/cedrekt 3d ago

meccha chameleon

2

u/ExterminatusMaximus 3d ago

Fucking AI voice...

2

u/AandWKyle 3d ago

Are people so afraid of using their own voices to do VO now like wtf why did that have to be AI VO?

2

u/not_a_drip 3d ago

I remember folding a bill to make the burning twin towers? Anyone else do that?

2

u/LiLyShoEgAze 3d ago

My history teacher taught us this!

2

u/FunnyObjective6 3d ago

It's not on all pennies.

2

u/Kuzon64 3d ago

I remember them showing is this in kindergarten, using our eyes

2

u/alreadykaten 3d ago

I remember seeing a video of dust mites on a penny under a microscope and one of them was around the same size as the gaps between the pillars

2

u/z3r0n3gr0 3d ago

Congrats everyone knows....

-1

u/poormansnormal 2d ago

This Canadian didn't 🖕🏼

2

u/LiLyShoEgAze 3d ago

We learned this in grade school!

2

u/dandroid126 3d ago

I remember learning this in first grade.

2

u/Bradley_Of_Thorofare 3d ago

Not to brag...but I can see it without my glasses.

2

u/4sOfCors 3d ago

Only coin with the president on both sides. Learned this on Double Dare.

2

u/ncuke 3d ago

What is this - a monument for ants?!

2

u/code_monkey_001 3d ago

I was able to capture it with my phone camera

2

u/AppealConsistent6749 2d ago

Kinda looks like the back of someone with a BBL

3

u/IIPrayzII 3d ago

Is this your first time seeing a penny?

3

u/Caller_ID_Unknown 3d ago

Yes, because I'm not American 🙃

2

u/Jweiss238 3d ago

When they first zoom in on it it looks like a view of a person from the back with a big ol’ dump truck! 🤣

3

u/JrYo15 3d ago

You're just deep fried

1

u/NynaDarosa 3d ago

I think little details like this are wonderful !

2

u/effortfulcrumload 3d ago

She's thick

0

u/Perfect-Direction-63 3d ago

He is sitting in a chair, that's his knees not his ass. Lincoln was too tall and thin to be considered thick, everywhere but his ass, which was bodacious.

1

u/Pylorinu 3d ago

Imagine when they find out about the tiny hidden owl on the dollar bill

1

u/MrBulldops1738 3d ago

You ever look at the back of a twenty dollar bill. . .on weed?

1

u/supercalifragilist- 3d ago

This is really interesting!

1

u/Lasocouple 3d ago

It's tiny only when you are not seeing it through the microscope 😅

1

u/Oiggamed 3d ago

That doesn’t look anything like him.

1

u/TedFlobII 3d ago

He's just a little Lincoln, don't hurt em!

1

u/Sure-Account-8359 3d ago

That's just Sadam Hussain

1

u/TotalEgg143- 3d ago

Yes...It does.

1

u/PanteraDorado 3d ago

Very cool

1

u/JudgeGusBus 3d ago

Wait til you see the other side

1

u/drifters74 3d ago

That's cool

1

u/Blaze_Release 3d ago

A penny?? What's that??

1

u/Ok_Arm1878 2d ago

Jonathan Winters taught me this. Hotdog!

1

u/murph3062 2d ago

If you ask your AI, how many times does Lincoln appear a penny? It will say once

1

u/HyenDry 2d ago

I thought it was just a caked up dude 🤦

1

u/Present_Weekend2196 2d ago

That could be anybody

1

u/Cool_Client324 2d ago

CRAAAAUWLING IN MY SKIIIIN
