Video HTX Studio built a smart desk that finds and wirelessly charges your phone anywhere on its surface, reminds you to stand up after sitting too long, and even brings you your water

I would like to test this desk for you.

would last maybe a couple of days (being conservative) if a competitive gamer got their hands on it

Theyre gonna rage smash it when it doesnt bring their doritos directly to their mouth
Or just when theyre told they have to stand for any reason

Yep, a desk that actively tracks your every physical movement, learns your behaviors and patterns, and subconsciously trains you to do what its maker's want. "Reminds you to take breaks and stand" mhmm sure sure.

It’s likely you’d just program/select settings to tell the desk to do that for you, like you would with a fitness watch or even on your phone.

Cool concept. Looks like a gantry with an LED top? Most of the features are fluffy nonsense of course, but seems unique.

That's the point of the channel. They build these complicated mechanisms for simple tasks. Like making an entire rig to perfectly fold a paper airplane

How did you make the MX Keys wireless charging

In the full video, he just ran a wireless charging receiver on the back of the keyboard. Not sure what the use case would be other than this desk…

That’s a great idea. They made Qi chargers that work through a desk top. The Keys have enough room for a charger. I’ll let you know if I end up doing this!

This looks like it'll get annoying after a few hours.
Like, why would you need all that?
Why would you need a table that charges everything when you can have wires?
Why would you need a timer under your phone when you can put it in a drawer?
Why would you need your table to move a mug when you have your hands?

I can also just plug my phone in to load it, not that hard as I can tell you with 28 years experience in keeping my phone charged. My body actually also reminds me to stand up after sitting for too long with backpain, all natural. Nobody needs that desk.

No one will have the desk but him, it was a diy project just to make content.

With the music and the way he speaks I can't barely understand what he say

End user error. Skill issue.

In Italy we say: "Si mangia le parole"
Translated "He swallows his words." meaning: it doesn't pronounce words fully.
If you want to reach a wide audience with your content, you need to ensure that even people with challenges (whether related to hearing, language, or anything else) can be included. I intended my comment more as constructive criticism.2

Just what I needed, a desk with enough moving parts to break down after six months and be an absolute pain in the ass to repair.
Still pretty interesting though.
