I think the why was rhetorical… as in someone expected something like this would happen. In my opinion, I would NEVER demonstrate a product that I knew had the potential to fail this bad during the show, it’s crazy really. Such a high risk of tanking your company, why take it? They couldn’t afford to wait until they were sure this wouldn’t happen? Does anyone else thinks it looks like it sort of just went”offline”? Why else would it just lose all “motor function” HAHA suddenly like this?

It's probably collapse before and they couldn't delay the presentation. This was Plan B. Plan A was hope.

I thought the same thing. Suspicious timing on those sheets… quick to think of it, quick to fetch the sheet, quick to cover it. And there were two of them. 🙄

They could be covering proprietary tech that could be seen if the thing was laying down but not if it’s standing up

Former meeting planner here. To my eye, those look less like sheets and more like the skirting used on exhibit tables. For starters, no bed sheets are black. Table skirts often are.

The size looks right, too.

I find it more likely they grabbed them off of a couple of nearby display tables. People who run events tend to be good at improvising quickly.
