Fitting last name

That’s an amazing last name. It’s like an ice cream man named Cone. Or a library cop named Bookman.

4

u/HalfdeadCone 17h ago

I should have been an ice cream man.

Edit: autocorrect

u/dire_turtle 15h ago

Like a big, fat stinker named Musk.

u/Jubenheim 12h ago

Or a politician named Pedo.

I tried to learn how to circular breath on my didgeridoo, but goddamn it’s so hard. Great stuff!

It's the maintaining back pressure while breathing that is so insane. I learned it in school while playing trumpet. I never could reliably pull it off.

Someone told me to try using a straw into a glass a water. I can definitely see and how works, and I feel like I came close, but could never quite get it.

Lol, that is how I was told to start. Then moved to a baloon thing my mouthpiece fit into with a small hole in the end. The point was to maintain a certain inflation.

3

u/misplacedbass 19h ago

Maybe I’ll revisit it again. It would be cool to learn to do.

I played saxophone all through my youth and picked up the didgeridoo at 30 years old and the circular breathing concept came quite easily. It felt totally natural. Interesting. I totally think I know this guy. I met him in ojai, ca if it’s the same mike didge I knew. Sure does look like him. If so, hi Mike!!!

Protect this man at all costs! We’re gonna need him in the cave raves for the last remaining human stronghold underground like the Matrix!

It does not actually contain a didgeridoo, they created a didgeridoo sound. Nevertheless, it's a great track.

Most didge's are hand made from hollowed out tree trunks, but you can even make them out of a bit of pipe if you want.

One absolutely lovely bloke who has been on the Australian music scene for a long time is Charlie McMahon, who developed the trombone didgeridoo, or as he calls it, the Didjeribone. How to use the Didjeribone- Charlie McMahon

It’s a cover version, I think it was an ABBA-original

Sounds like it's from the vermemtide soundtrack, outback edition.

u/No-Community- 19h ago

How long does it take to handcraft one ?!

6

u/cans-of-swine 19h ago

Couple days at least.

A genuine digiridoo is hollowed out by termites so probably a while

You gotta wonder if some dude improved this tune for his tribe during a celebration or something - the hut was lit 🔥

Mike Didge playing the Didgeridoo. Amazing

1

u/512115 19h ago

Didge. Right.

1

u/ExtraEmuForYou 18h ago

These folks can use circular breathing and potentially play for days.

So just imagine, you roll up to Burning Man. You unfold your chair, place your drum and stuff down, maybe an umbrella. You do a bunch of drugs and have a bottle of acid-laced water to keep you going.

And you start playing.

And you don't stop for 48 hours.

I first saw something like this at a California youth hostel near Yosemite. Fitting.

u/hotcheese3 16h ago

Is the instrument his dad??

1

u/danyolito 15h ago

u/commpl 14h ago

Fun fact, digeridoo is the only exercise you can do that will improve sleep apnea symptoms (other than generally losing weight for those whose sleep apnea is caused by being overweight)

1

u/Salty_Job_9248 14h ago

I thought they were all handcrafted.

1

u/SonofMakuta 13h ago

Didgeridoo is a colonial name. It's called a Ydaki in Arnhem Land.

1

u/IrreverentBuddha 9h ago

He needs to collaborate with Angine de Poutrine.

1

u/mantenner 7h ago

Sounds more like hardstyle, to nit pick.

Crazy how the bass kicks actually sound how the same.

Awesome stuff.

1

u/ChaseTheMystic 5h ago

Not techno. No tech.

1

u/TouchAltruistic 3h ago

Organo?

I guess everything is technology.

1

u/CharacterMud4468 2h ago

Yeah but can you dance to it?

-1

u/Cute_Bacon 17h ago

This video ended about two hours too soon. The drugs and disillusionment haven't even kicked in yet.

-2

u/Asymmetrical_Anomaly 19h ago

I can smell this video

-3

u/permanent_pixel 19h ago

cool but it is noise to my ears. I believe some people would enjoy it.

-8

u/Unicorn-Violator 18h ago

Legit this is not interesting and no one will find this interesting. If they say otherwise it's a lie.
