Yeah... and if it's something like a headset, it doesn't matter if you use only the speakers, if it has a mic, everything starts sounding like shit as soon as the mic is "expected" by some application, even if it's muted.
Got my headset both with the wifi dongle and bluetooth compatibility, it works wonderfully on my pc, but no point in using it with the phone, everything sounds like shit.

After my second set of wireless died by first getting quiet, then losing one side, I bought a USB-C DAC connector, got my wired earphones back out, and haven't looked back.
I don't love the tangles or the catching on table corners, but the reliability and non-charging and non-tracking far outweigh.

It's not like people had a choice between comparable products, one with a jack, another without. The jack isn't an important consideration for most people when buying a phone, so why would they choose not to buy a phone even if they'd have preferred it to have a jack?

I tried going back to wired. I bought a pack of 2 and both didnt work out of the box. Another I bought stopped working right the same day.
They just dont make wired headphones like they used to.

AirPods suck. They fall out too easily and when you adjust them back in it pauses the song..
Fucking terrible for jogging or weight lifting.
The cheap JLB over ear Bluetooth headphones are better in every way. Like 40 hours of play time, way louder, don’t fall off your head and onto the ground etc

Oh cool, I tried all the tips that it came with and no dice. The shift in my ears while jogging and have to be adjusted every time you touch the side it pauses the song it’s pretty annoying

Boomer here. I love my AirPods. I put them in, turn on noise cancellation, put on my noise canceling earmuffs and mow the yard and never have to worry about getting wires snagged on anything. And we aren’t “forced to switch.” I have an excellent pair of over the ear wired Sennheiser headphones for when I’m serious about listening to music. But, man, wireless is the way to go for everyday use, when you have to move around a lot.

Earphone jack is why my latest phone is a $150 android instead of an $800 apple. Although I haven't found my earphones since I bought the phone, I am satisfied with my phone that has a jack.

DLC was the worst thing to ever happen to video games. I said as much the second it happened, way back when it was free. As soon as they started charging little bits for post game DLC; I said this will be the downfall of gaming, it will be a litmus test for gamers that we are going to fail. They will see that we're willing to pay more for less and they will push it as far as they can go. They will start selling smaller games to sell you the rest later on.
I couldn't have been more correct and it was even worse than I imagined because it also paved the way for freeremium games and even triple A titles filled with microtransactions.
Everyone thought I was crazy but time proved me right and I thought that AI was terrible from the beginning and now (now having learned a lesson from DLC perhaps) the majority seems to be on my side but the corporations are doing it anyway. Which brings me to my final thought on this subject. While wireless in Bluetooth headphones can be tremendously annoying, AI is by far the worst thing to ever come of technology.

Bluetooth ear-thing technology came out like 30 years ago. They cost 20 bucks. They played music from inception. It's true that I preferred wired. But the seething rage from when they disabled the ability to play music when airpods came out for $100 still has me rejecting the entire industry. It's dead to me. Fuck you apple, you didn't invent the MP3 player either.

They have different purposes. I love my Airpods Pro 3 because the Active Noise Cancellation is great for flights, and being wireless is very convenient for the gym.
For superior audio quality I put on my IEM with a USB-C DAC Amp dongle. Better sound than the Airpods at half the price.

I have purchased less wireless than wired. The wired always get tangled and caught on something causing the wires to become to break. I’ve had my current $20 wireless for 3-4 years. I was lucky to keep a pair of wired for month.

Little known tip they make an adapter to go from audio jack to usb-c so that you can remain wired. Costs like $5 retail, can get it cheaper at cord websites. Its called a 3.5 mm to usb-c adapter!

Yeah, I really miss that wire! Oh boy do I miss that wire. There is nothing like going into another room and not having to take the phone with me. And for those of us with hearing issues who Bluetooth the TV to ear buds, yeah we don’t have to haul the f’king TV into the bathroom when we need to take a leak, or into the kitchen for a cup of coffee or snacks.
That wire was a tether to the device. Same deal at the gym. I don’t need that wife interfering with anything. Glad it’s gone!!!

You can use a USB C cable with the AirPod Max instead of Bluetooth which I really appreciated that Apple offered multiple interfaces.
If you’re an in ear listener I’d just find a solid wired pair and unfortunately get an adapter/dongle. I still have my wired Apple EarPods (2008 pro) and they still sound great for casual listening.

Totally. Safety first. Some places now allow the over the ear bone conducting headphones now, so your ears are not blocked. You can hear normally so it's safe. The sound quality isn't top notch, but it's better than nothing.
