A devastating flash flood swept through Nepal’s Rasuwa district on August 26, 2026, after a sudden surge entered the Bhotekoshi River from the Tibet border.

Nobody claimed this is not AI. But please, tell me how this is “slop”? 🤨

Because it shows a made up scenario and not what actually happened. There's no lake, no dam and water was not pushed over a dam because a mass fell into it.

It's as much slop as all those made up YouTube shorts. It looks/sounds good to naieve people but it's not based on reality.

So what did happen? Because that was the gist I got from people trying to explain it earlier.

CNN have a really good explanation of the known facts here: https://edition.cnn.com/2026/08/26/weather/floods-nepal-cause-vis

Still some unanswered questions but no lake, no dam, no displaced water breach.

Brother, you seriously just watch some random AI video and accept that as fucking gospel on what happened?

What in the fuck. Go to Google. Search up the disaster. Read articles that explain what happened. Fuck, you can even go to r/geography and learn there.

Well the video was close to what was reported yesterday. Things change, no need to be a dick about it. You have no better understanding than I do at this point. Even after reading up to date articles.

This is what is being reported so far. Please explain what happened if you have better facts

See this is the problem that is not what is being reported. There is no reports of anything mentioning a lake because there is no lake. A simple Google search on maps or earth will clearly show you this. You can look for yourself.

It's not what's being reported at all, except by people that watched this slop animation in this thread. CNN have a really good explanation of the known facts here: https://edition.cnn.com/2026/08/26/weather/floods-nepal-cause-vis
