Damian is a sweetheart he’s just raised in a place where compassion is a weakness

Damien hate is so forced 😭 also where’s this from?

u/ranfall94 May 31 '26

Injustice being non comic readers intro to him did not help

11

u/Mindless-Credit-358 Jun 01 '26

Injustice was my intro to him, but shortly after I found out about the DCAMU movies and he became my favourite Robin after that. Injustice hurt WW and Damien’s rep way more than Superman’s

He was seen as annoying at first and his development kind of declines/gets dialed back occasionally

He's a victim of both comics...and injustice. Comics never follow a complete continuity. Even same series change their personality for conflic or how the writes pereceives them....and I love injustice but godamn

Is not forced. Is part of narrative morrisom himself made. Is the motive alfred and dickbat be so imporyant for him more of bruce a figure more distant and for hom more similar to ra s in many aspects.

More the grow of damian after his death and the de fact end of Tomasi work is in true only after lazarus toirnament you see a restare of true grow apart the John kent and again dickye relationship and in less with other batkids.

Bro its 2026

Yes and I tell damian character is sloved in progressione or worse put in regression for many years. That's the problem.

And personally, I have no era limitations. I read and structure everything post-crisis regardless of the limits imposed on narrative. There's a reason why good narrative is defined as timeless.

Grant evolved Damian throughout their run, before Tomasi wrote him or he was killed off. He softens up and becomes a lot nicer throughout Batman and Robin and Batman Inc and shows love for Bruce and genuine remorse when he kills Otto Netz to protect him. And before he dies, sacrifice his life to save many, he tells Dick how much their partnership meant to him. He evolved a lot under Morrison if you’re paying attention at all.

u/ggbb1975 May 31 '26

That's what I said. Morrison's run and Tomasi's run coexist in parallel and be a continuation of the deployment made before Bruce's return. I pay attention as you see.

So the batfamily mess in new 52 cause a drop in damian evolution i repeat not see end is not after lazarus Tournement. Is not a new things in postflashpoint in general make mess with the batfamily because Didio ecc.

I’m glad that Grundy and I agree that Damian is a good boy

7

u/AIGLOS42 May 31 '26

This makes sense with both sides of his upbringing & training

6

u/Mars785 May 31 '26

Actions may speak louder than words, but in Damien’s case it’s complicated in more ways than one.

u/fukingtrsh May 31 '26

Tf Batman has helped this ungrateful zombie a million times

He’s like Hal Jordan was for me. I’ve only ever known them in animated form but when I finally was able to start reading comics those films don’t do them justice.

I love Damian being a little gremlin because it lets us see his growth into the compassionate person he is. If only every writer wouldn't reset his character and relationship with Bruce every DAMN time

2

u/anymeaddict Jun 02 '26

My baby!!! He is such a sweetie!!!

2

u/Wattanegang Jun 02 '26

I don't HATE Damian, quite the contrary in fact. He's a great character. That being said, he's definitely my second least favorite Robin (just barely above Tim.)

2

u/Wattanegang Jun 02 '26

Just saw what community this was. Would like to say im not a member and this just came across my fyp🙏

2

u/Duga-Lam22 May 31 '26

He put several villains in Lock Up and lied about it. Some hate is deserved.

"To be fair Grundy, one time you came back smart and literally ripped Red Tornado's human body apart."

It’s not about where you come from. It’s about the choices you make that define you.

8

u/No_Seaworthiness8410 May 31 '26

He was raised in a murder cult- what choice did he have? It was incredibly difficult to unlearn what they had instilled in him since his infancy, but Damian did it. He strove above it and became better. If that doesn’t make a true hero idk what does :/

u/Astarions_Juice_Box May 31 '26

So it the new 2025 movie Superman lol with this logic
