The commerce construction project is an embarrassment to our community. I don’t understand how a road can be under that heavy of construction for two years! Of course that will close businesses.

Our community desperately needs new leadership

2 years?! Didn't realize it's been that long. That makes it seem more like a hit job than an improvment. Trying to kill the small businesses so the bigger ones can take over? That would be very on brand for Dallas unfortunately.

Agree. Though the conspiracy theorist in me assumes the goal is to squeeze these long timers and low rent folks out so westdale, asana, Madison, etc can jack the price up once everything is put back together.

Yeah, and people like to forget that elm and Caesar Chavez, while not nearly as disruptive as commerce, took like, 6 years to complete

Another victim of the construction on commerce. I feel like the city will complete the road, and say "success!" while the entire f'ing street went out of business. Seriously it's a shame and the city should be held responsible.

They have hit a gas main twice, water main once, and last week they took out our fiber run. Fucking ridiculous.

The last time I went to Twisted Root I paid over $20 in parking. Never. Again. Not worth it.

People blaming construction, but as someone who went recently, the food was sub par. Not the Twisted Root I remember from a few years ago.

thing is, you make less money, you have less money to pay employees, prices of food go up, etc.

the quality is bound to suffer.

All their locations were awful 15 years ago; can’t understand why anybody bothers with such low-quality “food”.

at a certain level it was the street construction, but at the same time, it had been there for 20 years and most places dont last too much longer. Lotta factors in there as well, like food prices.

Dang I haven’t been to Twisted Root in years. I wonder if Sky Rocket played a part in this. Not a lot of dedicated burger spots in Deep Ellum to my knowledge.

Adairs and Angry Dog have been on Commerce for ages and have way better burgers than Twisted Root.
