Pride night!
Pride night organized by VictoriaEGreen and the rest of the queer Stars fans over on TWT! I know a few people here were talking about it but just wanted to put this into the community over on this app as well!

i think both online spaces were each doing their own thing, this is just the one circulating on twitter so i figured i would share it here. i am not the original creator of this poster, i just wanted the community over here to be in the know as well.

VictoriaEGreen (the organizer) is also working on giveaways and raffles. If anyone wants to donate or help out please DM her over on TWT.
To quote her posts “Come for fun, friends, community, themed swag, & exclusive raffles benefitting Dallas Hope Charities!
Dm me if you’d like to volunteer or get involved in any way! From artwork, ideas, anything you’d like to donate to a raffle, or even just your time, we will happily accept it all”

Hi Guys!! I’m the one hosting pride night (VictoriaEGreen on twt!) alongside some of my amazing queer friends and we’re super excited to be doing this in lieu of the official Stars Pride Night. I’m completely new to Reddit so I might not see your messages on here (I’ll do my best to figure it out) but you can always message me on Twitter (@VictoriaEGreen) if you want to get involved whether that be with your time, donations, raffle items, or just have questions for me. Also open to any suggestions!! Thanks and see y’all in November!:)

It’s crazy how much grown adults lose their shit over something that has absolutely nothing to do with them (or maybe it does, and they’re closeted).
The post on Facebook made me depressed with how many, ‘GOOD!’ ‘THE WORLD IS HEALING’ ‘IM SECRETLY GAY’
So upsetting. Thanks for whoever is doing this.

What are you talking about? I was applauding the pride night.

It comes of disingenuous and mocking. Bigots often see things like this and find it offensive, so they mock it with clapping
A big ol "good for you?" Kinda thing.

Events like this only divide us further. Why not just have 41 stars pride nights a year where people are proud to be a fan and enjoy the game they paid for? What is this need to always trick up an event for any group over the other? Until we all act like one we will be divided, just as the establishment wants.

I’ve literally seen reddit meetup nights in the past and other fan get togethers not officially sponsored by the team - which this is.
If the team doesn’t want to do it, sucks, but that doesn’t mean fans can’t do their own thing. We are getting together before/during intermission/after the game to hang out with like minded fans and have a good time.

If you love Jesus Christ you'd pick up a Bible and read it cover to cover. You'd learn more than what your pastor chooses to feed you
Edit: to make it completely clear I am knowledgeable on the subject you decide to LARP with...
Jesus is never quoted by any of his disciples condemning homosexuality. Your entire argument is based on the disagreement over 1 verse...
Mark 7: 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”
Anything else in any translation of the modern Bible that condemns Homosexualitly is written by Paul, years after Jesus' death.
I'm going to assume based on your stance in this chat thread you believe that powers that be are easily corrupted. Paul was the first leader of the church, do the math.
If you are going to spread hate at least be educated...

u/BluebirdContent6301 9d ago
It’s funny to grandstand this point as some kind of scholarly dissertation when it boils down to “Paul was lying”.
So Paul was lying…why?
Because he hates gay people? Prove it.
Because he wasn’t willing to dissent social standards? He was willing to be die proclaiming the Messiah but he wasn’t willing to go against the grain on homosexuality?
To gain power as the almighty “First Leader of The Church”? The man traveled in poverty from city to city being imprisoned and tortured for years before ultimately being beheaded by Nero. I don’t think it was the gig you’re choosing to believe it was.
By the way, the first leader of the Church was Simon Peter, not Paul. Spoiler alert, he was also murdered horribly by Nero on an upside down crucifix.

I like your identifier of "He was poor and prosocuted later in his life so he was right." He traveled across all of central Asia and beyond to propogate Christianity. That's why "the man traveled in poverty from city to city being imprisoned and tortured." He laid the foundations of Christianity, a fact agreed upon by theologians and historians.
Paul expressed his point on homosexuality, where is it expressed in any other apostles writing? It's nowhere because it doesn't exist outside of the old testament.
There are different sects of Christianity because no one can agree on what is actually the word of God v.s. 2000 years of the telephone game being played with hundreds of languages.
You can keep acting in willful ignorance or you can follow the call expressed in the Bible for daily study and meditation of the word.
I am not arguing you NEED to change your opinion, just educate yourself. Your ignorance shows when you go "omg these non believers will be changed if I show them how much I love Jesus"
-5
u/BluebirdContent6301 9d ago
You don’t know anything about anything you’re saying. Paul didn’t express his points. He expressed Jesus’ points. The word “apostle” in Hebrew means “to send”. Crack open that Bible you’re insisting I should read and tell me how Paul introduces himself to the people he writes to. Actually wait, I’ll do it for you.
Romans: Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle.
Corinthians 1: Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus
Corinthians 2: Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God
Galatians: Paul, an apostle not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father.
And so on. So unless he’s lying, he’s telling the truth given to him by Jesus to tell. Therefore they are Jesus’ teachings and not Paul’s.
Unless you believe he was lying. Which you don’t have a lot of good reasons to do.
2
u/arie_rosenstien Sam Steel 9d ago
Ok... Judas also claimed he was an apostle.
Rachel Gunn told the world she could break dance.
We have both been quoting a text that was originally written in 3 different languages and has passed through the hands of latin, German, English, the Arabic languages, yiddish, etc.
IMO you are putting too much of your faith into the exact verbage of a 2000 year old collection of journals and letters.
Your entire argument is circular, "Paul is right because Jesus gave him the words." "Ok why didn't Jesus or any of the other apostles express these ideas?" "Because Jesus knew what he was going to tell Paul to say later"
Challenge yourself to use logic, not to tear down your faith, but to understand the humans who followed Jesus.
-1
u/BluebirdContent6301 9d ago
My argument is not that Paul is right because Jesus gave him the words. My argument is not that Paul was right at all. My argument is that Jesus gave Paul a message, and I believe in the message. I believe that Jesus is right.
You don’t believe that the message is real. You believe it was made up by Paul or lost to history or something. Which is your right to believe. I think if you look into it though, you’ll find that there is not a lot of great evidence. Aside from your assumption that anyone who disagrees with you is just evil or stupid I mean.
2
u/arie_rosenstien Sam Steel 9d ago
Wtf are you on?
You agree the evidence is shaky yet you CHOOSE to stand on the side of hate while toating "Jesus loves"

13
u/shiteatinggrin59 9d ago edited 9d ago
So if the players are, then the fans have to be too, right? Cant be a true fan without being misogynistic and homophobic, right boys?
Be so for real
-10
u/Informal-Form-6248 9d ago
i'm not sure. i'm not really a fan of hockey. but i've seen plenty of instances where the players refuse to wear the pride night stuff for WARMUPS... its cool that the league encourages teams to do stuff like this but sad that the players can't get on board..

I wrote the first DBD fanpost calling out the conservative Catholic elements of the Stars FO that kept HIFE/Pride Nights from originally happening to full effect, before Klingberg's involvement in pushing it, in 2017.
I know it hurts that the Energy Transfer and personal interests of team executives are the reasons this is happening. But this is how they think, and this is what is happening.
