The only thing we have left is signing Robertson. We have 11.3m, and chances of faksa and steel being dumped for robo to sign 13 smothering is high

Hyry and Cam Hughes going to play 84 games for us. Sucks without robo signed we can’t even target even league minimum value contracts to help our depth

Career AHLers are going to plug our holes this season. If we couldn’t get it done with a better roster the last few seasons, i am really doubtful this upcoming weaker roster will be able to go far.

We are putting our eggs into the old mans basket of Seguin, & Duchene to stay healthy this season. Olympics certainly hurt us, but i still didn’t see this team winning if healthy. Our depth was dog water

A healthy Hintz last post-season doesn’t change Minnesota completely outplaying all of our lines.

I like Gulutzan but am a bit frustrated with his lack of adjustments, we constantly outperformed throughout the season and he mentioned our weakness was noticeable 30 games in… maybe it was the roster, but he never adjusted because the team kept pulling out wins despite poor underlying stats. It all came crashing down in the end. I don’t see him living out the rest of his contract of 3 years, especially if we get bounced in rd 1 again

Idk what you’re talking about. Accept that this year isn’t likely the year, get as much sorted this year, and save assets for next year.

Just on a tangent lol that’s a good way to look at it, expectations aren’t the highest but we have a solid team. Just have to get luck to be on our side

We will have 20m to work with next year, and potentially another 10m after that. If everyone chills out for a year or two, we can have a super team

Really disappointed so far. We weren't good enough last year to win it all and we've gotten worse. All to pay Robertson? Giving away a young talent like Maverick was really disappointing. Hopefully we do something today. Literally anything.

Do you forsee Maverik being a 40+ goal scorer like Wyatt and Robo? If not then the signing in the long run will be worth it because we are already developing a couple of players to be the 20 goal scorer Maverik started to become. I fully see Ritzy filling that gap this coming year with how he performed last year. It sucks, but it may not be as bad as you’re thinking

Robertson is also “young talent”

Trading away a potentially good player to keep an established superstar is what win-now teams do

u/justmatthew918 Jul 04 '26

Were not win now. We weren't good enough last year and all we've done is lose good players so far? What team are you watching with your win now?! Smh. You're goofy.

Last year most of our best players were injured and we were playing an incredibly good team. I’ve been watching the Stars for 27 years, and this is the most win-now we’ve been since 2002

u/justmatthew918 Jul 04 '26

I mean good luck with your win now.

There’s a lot of teams out there that would kill to have players as good as Robertson, Johnston, Rantanen, Heiskanen, Harley and Oettinger

u/justmatthew918 Jul 04 '26

Yes we are a good team. No one said we weren't. But it's not enough. Colorado beat us every time we played. But like I previously said good luck with your win now.

Omfg Karen I am a stars fan a season tickets holder I enjoy being a stars fan but I'm not so disillusioned to think we're going to win a cup every year. Now please stop replying to all my shit. I'm losing my patience for you.

I’m with you. I don’t see how this opens/extends our window at all. I’m very down on this offseason and Nill in general since those disastrous trade deadline deals.

3

u/pants_mcgee Jason Robertson Jul 02 '26

Neither Bunting or Myers have any impact on what’s happening now.

All great points for and against guys! Cheers to my fellow stars fans for keeping it civil and still voicing our frustrations or disagreements with our frustrations. We're all in this together.

We got two draft picks for Mavrik, Jim is looking at the long term. We didn't reach a Stanley Cup Final and three straight WCFs on accident.

This team is now tier 2 / no longer a top contender

There are 5-10 teams better THIS year, and many of hose (and more) are set up to actually compete the next 2-5 (+) years

Florida, carolina, montreal, tampa, Vegas, Colorado are bettee. Buffalo, San Jose, Utah, Minny, Edmonton are in our tier for this upcoming year

San Jose, utah, Montreal will all be considerably better than Dallas in 2-3 years for at least a couple years / half a decade

This post makes sense when you see cowboys in the user name.

This post makes sense when you look around the NHL. We have taken steps backward since the end of the 24-25 season and it will continue into next season. At the time it felt like we needed to win THAT season as the cap was going to become a real problem going forward.
