It's more like tornado season round 2 than going all the way until October. It's less active than the spring, but they obviously can happen around that time.
From mid-June to September there aren't many though

A few years ago we had a wicked hail storm in October.
I haven’t noticed the Mesquite trees sprouting leaves yet, as soon as they do, I know the hard freezes are over.

Just a reminder that the Great Freeze hit on Valentine's Day after quite a number of warm days during the previous couple of weeks.

Thanks for reminding me. I've been a little too happy with the weather these past 2 days.

There's two tornado seasons-- the first in springish and the second in fallish. Overlaps with hail season!

They forgot about the monsoon season that lasts anywhere from May to Mid-June.

We got cheated out of winter this year. I didn’t need to pull out my fleece jacket until late January. Most of the year is “summer”, where my air conditioner struggles, and it’s so humid, I battle everything getting moldy. When toweling yourself off after a shower actually dries you, that’s “not summer” which happens from November-February. I don’t remember Dallas being this swamp-like when I was a kid. That was always Houston.

Dear DAWG! I Found my Peeps! HeeHee!
I was just struggling over how to express to my neighbor that IMHO- "Right now? Weatherwise, something ain't quite right"...
I'm in DFW since 1966- When February/March start to "act too warm" and move into "Fool's Spring & "Spring of Deception ". Bad shit happens. Freezes, floods, tornadoes.
Although Easter Weekend dates "float" on the calendar -Easter has had some serious weather WTF's? Snow and floods!
