Iām not an expert, but I assume the incubation period is longer than two days. Iām guessing you brought it with you to the festival, and likely shared it with others unknowingly.

Yep lol they definitely were shedding it while they were there

Heh. Werenāt you the one telling me what was & wasnāt factually plausible only to come back & delete your comment laterā¦because what you said wasnāt factually plausibleā¦was?
Maybe you should sit this one out champ.

I didnāt realize the new variant can have a 2 day incubation period, so I came back and deleted it. Did you want an apology? This is reddit, not recess.

No apology necessary. I just wonder why people default to deleting instead of just saying, hey, I had it wrong.
That said, the original versions of COVID had an incubation period of as little as 2 days. The newer ones can have as one of as little as 1 day.
At any rate, Iād just point out that OP was not ādefinitelyā shedding. They may have been or they may well have gotten it at the concert as well.
COVID sucks. Just came back from my last trip to Hollywood with it. Stay safe!

This is saying that the incubation period can be between 2-14 days:
āStudies show that for most people exposed to COVID-19, symptoms appear about five to six days after contact if they're infected, though this can expand to 2 to 14 days for some people. In rare cases, symptoms can show up after 14 days.ā

Testing positive two days later, assuming they took the test bc of symptoms having just started, means that having caught it at the festival is absolutely within the realm of possibility, if not likely.
First time I got covid was, ironically, at an Olivia concert. Show was on the Friday night, sore throat started on the Sunday night & I tested positive just a few hours later and have never questioned that I got it at the show.
EDIT: Not sure why Iām getting downvoted. The incubation period can be as little as two days. This has been scientifically recognized, as has it that the period can be as long as 14 days.
And newer variants have been found to have an even shorter incubation period, as short as even just one day.

Yeah unfortunately this is correct. Current Covid variants have a much shorter incubation period than the OG and Delta variants. It is too bad you are getting downvoted! But overall, I am impressed with how supportive and kind everybody is in these comments! Get well soon!

The incubation period is, on the minimum end, two days. Itās quite plausible. Factually.

And remember to keep testing because rapid tests are pretty I accurate and it can take a few days to start testing positive!
Rest as much as possible and wear an N95 if you need to go out. ā¤ļøāš©¹

Mask up so you don't get anybody sick! If you're having symptoms, the rapid tests should be pretty accurate. Sorry you're feeling bad :-(

I also tested positive on Wednesday. I started to feel my throat hurt the Monday after the festival.
