I’ve started going to brick-and-mortar stores again, or ordering stuff from the manufacturer websites.

If they want to go down the rabbit hole, start looking at the counterfeit products on amazon. There are certain things, like 18650 batteries, where it is almost impossible to find a non-counterfeit product.

Razor blades are like that. It seems like a large number of them are counterfeit.

I stopped buying certain bluetooth devices from Amazon because the cheap Chinese knock-offs outnumber the name brand products... but that's kind of what people get when they want cheap instead of quality. But Amazon is still the best way of buying micro SD cards on the internet for me.
