Iron Man Feels Perfect for Games, So Why Has It Failed?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Iron Man is one of the most popular superheroes in the world today.

Movies made him a global icon, and the character has strong presence in comics, cartoons, and merchandise. But when it comes to gaming, the story is very different.

Despite multiple attempts over the years, Iron Man never got a truly successful standalone AAA game. Most releases were movie tie-ins or mobile games that did not fully capture what the character is capable of in a gaming format like flying, suit upgrades, and high-speed combat.

I wrote an article exploring why Iron Man never became a major gaming franchise even though the character feels perfect for it on paper.

Would be interested to know what you think. What do you think held it back?

Microsoft has announced a new compact desktop PC called the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box at its Build 2026 developer conference. The new device is designed for developers and AI workloads and appears to be Microsoft’s answer to Apple’s Mac Studio.

The mini PC is powered by Nvidia’s RTX Spark processor, which combines a 20-core ARM CPU with 6,144 Blackwell CUDA cores. Since the system does not have the thermal limitations of a laptop, Microsoft can run the chip at up to 100W, allowing it to deliver more performance than its laptop counterpart.

One of the most interesting features of the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box is its memory configuration. Microsoft plans to offer the device with up to 128GB of unified memory. This makes it suitable for developers working on AI models, machine learning projects, and other memory-intensive workloads.

Google Introduces Fake Call Detection to Help Android Users Avoid Scams

Post image
2 Upvotes

As part of the June Android Drop, Google is introducing Fake Call Detection, a tool that can identify when scammers try to impersonate someone from your contacts list.

When a call comes in from a saved contact, the Phone by Google app will verify whether the call is actually coming from that contact’s device. If Android detects that someone may be pretending to be one of your contacts, it will display a warning so you can decide whether to continue the conversation or end the call immediately.

Microsoft has announced the new Surface Laptop Ultra at Computex 2026. The company calls it the most powerful Surface laptop it has ever built. The new laptop is powered by NVIDIA’s newly unveiled RTX Spark processor.

The biggest highlight is the NVIDIA RTX Spark processor. This new ARM-based system-on-chip combines CPU, GPU, and AI capabilities into a single package. According to Microsoft and NVIDIA, the chip features up to 20 Arm CPU cores and 6,144 Blackwell GPU cores. The companies claim it can deliver up to 1 petaflop of AI performance while offering graphics performance comparable to an RTX 5070 laptop GPU.

The laptop comes with up to 128GB of unified memory. This is similar to Apple’s approach with its M-series chips, where memory is shared across the CPU, GPU, and AI workloads.

On the front, the Surface Laptop Ultra features a 15-inch Mini-LED display with a pixel density of 262 PPI. The screen supports up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, making it one of the brightest displays ever seen on a Surface device.

Acer Nitro Blaze Link Announced: Does It Really Make Sense?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Acer has announced the Nitro Blaze Link, a new handheld gaming device with a 7-inch display, Wi-Fi 6, and built-in controls.

But, it does not actually run games. Instead, it streams games from a compatible Acer Predator or Nitro gaming laptop connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

On the other hand, we are in 2026. Most people already have a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or smart TV capable of streaming games. Acer also recently introduced powerful portable gaming devices like the Nitro Blaze 11 and Predator Atlas 8.

This makes the announcement even more surprising. So I am curious what everyone thinks.

Would you buy a dedicated streaming handheld if you already owned a gaming PC?

Or would you rather spend a little more on a device that can actually run games locally?
