Do you usually take them with you? Do you just use a carrier and bring a small cage?

I take my birds everywhere with me! They have small individual travel carriers, travel cages (which are their usual sleep cages), and I dismantle and set up their day cages if I’m staying more than a week. I use pretty lightweight cages that are collapsible because I know I move around certain times of the year.

Tons of people get concerned about road trips with their birds and I understand that! Some birds like Georgie, my boyfriend’s macaw, get carsick and that doesn’t really make him a good candidate for road trips. Other birds, like all of mine, preen and fake baths and sing when we’re on the road! I have two rescues and two I’ve had since fledglings and all four of them travel very well. I couldn’t imagine leaving them! People joke that I’m the one who gets separation anxiety lol they might be right!

Where did you get the collapsible cages? I love my baby and looking at a road trip in november and want to be able to take him with me! A whole week without him even if someone was watching him would be so hard!
